Wests Tigers Coaches

If I was a dud coach I'd agree with you. If I had confidence in my ability then I'd grab the opportunity.
Maybe. If it was me and I looked.at the Tigers, there would be positives and negatives but to be honest I'd stay as an assistant at the premiers.until I could see some improvement at board level. 5 coaches in ten years? Why would you trust them to keep their word.

My honest opinion is that anyone who'd knock back that offer is a pea heart.

Is the end goal of an assistant not to be a head coach? If opportunity presents itself then you believe in your ability to grab it with both hands and deliver. Roosters were a basket case when Robinson went there, look what he did with them. CC if by some chance your reading this, man up and get on board.

Thanks that was a very interesting response and one I had not totally considered.
I agree that the coe and the footy budget are huge steps in the right direction and a definite positive for this administration. The coaching stuff is questionable imo.
But its hard to cop a new 5 year rebuild from the group that gave us the last 10-year rebuild if that makes sense.
I agree, but I would argue we are probably already 1-2 years into that 5-year rebuild, after 2-3 or so years cleaning out the Cleary mess. The distinction is the club decided that Madge is no longer the person so see out the last 3-4 years of that process.

Clearly not a moron CC. Shame.

The weird one is - if Ciraldo decides to remain at Penrith, there is arguably no more locked-in coach in the league than Cleary. He's young enough, Panthers are winning a lot and are defending premiers, his boy is young and likely the be the Panthers and Origin halfback for many years yet.

So perhaps Ciraldo is just hoping to be a life-long assistant coach and not step into the big shoes.

Basket case? They played in a grand final just 2 year prior to Robinson signing. Also Robinson was the defence coach of the roosters in 2010.

Wasnt there also the question of medical clearances before the contracts were signed. I recall somewhere that at least Packer and maybe one of the others (Matulino?) refused to get a medical clearance and we still singed them. If true the WT reps who recommended and signed the contract should be out.
Look it's history, but:
Neither Packer, Mats or Reynolds were hobbling. I never heard they were medically FUBAR.

McQueen was heavily busted and we knew it and we knew it was bad. We signed him.

^honestly this sucks. McQueen after that hit should have been allowed to recover and medically retire. But not our baggage.

Overall, it wasn't the imported players that were the problem. Sure we brought badly. We also had a stack of talent around and potential every year.
We never saw these people develop! That is the key problem.

I can see parra moving on Arthur if they fail in the semis again. I'd wait to see what happens there if I was Ciraldo.
Parramatta / St George / Newcastle / Canberra far better opportunities for a young aspiring coach.
I’ve changed my view and I’m leaning to Flanagan as the only option available to the tigers.
Which ever coach does take the job, having an experienced hooker and an inform experienced hooker will be a huge benefit for them.

I often wonder if there would have been any diffrence if Bennett came before we signed maguire, I just wonder if he would have been able to do any better with what we had. As far as Ciraldo not signing, you want to be a head coach, an opportunity presents itself if you don't take it someone else will. Just suggests he may not have enough confidence in himself or the club at this stage of his career, I'd start talking to flanaghan.

Newy and saints would kill off a rookie quicker than us I reckon.
I like Flanagan too for us.

Prehaps. Newcastle has more star power in its roster.
St George on the other hand have the best young talented backline.

Despite this and along with us all three clubs have incredibly shocking depth in their forward pack and only a handful of decent rookie forwards putting their hands up.
