I was reading something the other day where an overseas company has developed a road that charges the car as you drive. It was done in Sweden a couple of years ago but that involved putting rails in the road and having an arm run along it under the car. Not the best way of doing it. The new road has coils laid under the road as it is built and provides wireless charging to the car. Obviously in the early stages but i think the plan is to have stretches of road at intervals that provide a top up as you drive. No doubt when it happens in Australia the govt will build it sell it off to a private company that will put a toll on it.It will happen one day....the recharging as you mention is the tricky bit
Need to somehow use the energy from driving to keep the batteries charged
