Luke Brooks - Mega Thread

I’m past the point of blind faith mate. I want to see consistent results before I buy in.

I was past that point a long time before 05. I'm not stating next year will be like 05. I said we were a bottom 4 team this year. We are a bottom 4 team next year at this point.

I still think it can turn around pretty quickly because our cap isn't screwed but we need smart signings, tough decisions on our current roster and a bunch of quality juniors to come through.

We’ll see a better Luke Brooks in 23 with a better pack and top class DH. To win games we need to control the ruck, our forwards need to dominate, outmuscle, out wrestle and out think their opposite number.
We won’t improve by sacking our good players, unless of course they are uncoachable.
He's had 9 years to be better. Yes the forward pack has not been as good but you can't justify wasting another year on him. How many times has he kicked on the front foot and it was shocking? How many forward passes and wrong passes has he done on the front foot? He's not a top 8 half. Simple as that.

with a better coach he was halfback of the year 2018

This was a shot in the dark headline made up for clicks. The teams for next weekend's games will be made next week, after the rep rounds and Origin concludes. No one knows who will get injured, suspended, etc. Saying that Brooks will be dropped in two weeks time was a guess based upon his performance in the most recent game. If he is dropped, the reporter pumps his chest out declaring insider knowledge for his scoop.
looking forward to the meltdown on here if he is picked on Tuesday

Don't worry mate we have faith in you

But just in case you better organise get yourself prepared to go into protective custody if this all goes pest shaped for you
If it was a bum steer not even protective custody would save me - I accept I would have to get dismembered and burned at a stake.
Luckily it won't come to that, Hodgo always delivers the goods.

And he was, due to Cleary stacking the pack with his uncompromising kiwi mates. They only had a season or two in them, but they stood tall against the hot chooks and Storm. Brooks won a Dally M.

Brooks had more then enough time to establish himself, and arguably, except at the time of Woods, Taupau, Gavet, Sue, Seumanufagai when we had 2 aggressive props (Taupau, Gavet) - our props were all pillow plodders most of the time,
IMHO, his current value is around 400k max.

BAGS, what concerns me with a Brooksless Tigers, is the score could blow out? I know our last 2 games vs Warriors have been close, but without the defensive work Brooks does?
Brooks does more than 20 tackles per game, and always 2 or 3 of those are try savers. It’s his speed which gets him to the ball runner most of the time.
He misses heaps of tackles. His defence being good is a myth

Good for Brooks if he goes to Super League. Gets away from the limelight and may be able to re-discover himself over there. Could be similar to Hastings. We've seen other players find themselves in England. Blake Green is another I can think of.

I hope he goes.
More likely to be another Josh Reynolds and his career over within 6 months when he's finally held accountable for his on field poor performance

I just dont get that Brooks is our biggest problem?
He’s definitely not. I have not supported moving him on if you’re paying 500 for him to play somewhere else. You have to pick up a player for 500 who will only be of equivalent quality so no net gain.

Different story if we can offload him for a mil to ESL (almost too good to be true).

Sadly, what else can we expect than another deja vu?
- excuse 1 - Farah dominates him, and he cannot play "his game" because Farah controls the game;
- excuse 2 - Marshall dominates him, and he cannot play "his game" because Marshall controls the game;
- excuse 3 - Moses dominates him, and he cannot play "his game" because Moses controls the game;
- excuse 4 - we don't have any go forwards, he needs a better forwards around him to play "his game";
etc, etc. :unsure:

Cheat the salary cap, it's the only way to get a good roster, we need someone to run the sombrero pathways 🤔
