We dodged a bullet. A bloke who coached NYC half a decade ago. Hiding behind a side full of generational talent.

The only dumb thing the tigers did was offer a long contract and big money to a bloke that has achieved nothing as a coach.

Agree with this.
He clearly wants to swan into a head coach gig that has everything set up for him.
It would've been tough, but he could've made a real legacy here if he was successful.
Bit of a squid spine move, but will work out better for us in the long run IMO.

Incredible scenes.
We just had a very public chase for a coach end in failure, due to him wishing to stay as an assistant coach at a good club rather than a head coach at WT.
When you strip it back to the basics, it's an incredibly embarrassing sequence of events, even by our very low standards.

Just when we think the club can't sink any lower it breaks new ground and sinks levels never seen anywhere else on this entire planet

How much lower can we go?

Just give it a week and we will make this week's stuff look like a positive for the club

Great news. He will be good for the club if he signs. He did well at the Sharks when faced with $353,000 cap penalties in 2019 and 2020 after Flanagan departed. The playing group rated him as well.

Woolf knocked back the Warriors but there doesn't appear to be much noise around that occurrence.

I know that but he had a quality roster in place. We have a roster that is a shambles and in a club that players don't want to play at. We need to attract players now and keep the decent ones we do have that bought into Maguire. I can't see John Morris is the coach that will effect that change however Flannagan might.

If you're a club which survives off the development of juniors, John Morris is your man. Facts don't like - look at Mulitalo William Kennedy, Tracey, Metcalf, Wilton, the Braileys, Xerri, Flanagan, Nikora and Katoa yesterday, all graduates of Morris' Sharks Academy.

Morris is also the right personality to bring the playing group together. He was popular with the Sharks' players for a reason.

he will need to make some really hard calls on existing players and punt the ones that are really not putting in regardless who they are
he needs to have an eye for talent and develop a few from lower grades and only a few as we need room for some solid first grade player injection , he will need to to get results in his first year 8 / 9 th on ladder , he will need to be able to bring players to the club straight away and maybe poach a few still under contract from other clubs as well , he needs to be able to stand up to the media and put them straight and get on top of them , Hooper , Kent , the piss tank , just have a big crack back at them to shut them up when they are bull shitting about us , call the pricks out , He needs to be signed up this week and let Noddy keep going while he goes about his player revue and purchases , but he needs to get to training and get in with the boys so they know he is fair dinkum and has his eye on all of them .

Time to go all in for Flanno... forget this softly softly approach. We need to show the grit that F U attitude of the suburbs that our heritage was built.
I was hoping for CC and some new age coaching. But now i would luv Flanno, Lodge and Brown and even 12 months of JWH and belt the crap out of opposition teams for a little while.
At least our juniors wouldn't be crapping their dacks about getting a fight.

I like this.....and Flanagan as much as I didn't want him, would like it too. He does have a point to prove and if he turned our club around he would be an absolute messiah....

Doesn’t seem to be too hard for the Bulldogs to keep the leaks out, Sydney club, recent basketcase, destabilised board, huge fan following.

Caine has a lot of courage making that statement. I wonder how production meetings will go at SEN after indirectly suggesting the Tigers chairman and broadcast sponsor of SEN talks too much.
