Yeah the more I have read old articles from Morris time as Sharks coach, he was well respected by those juniors he either coached or brought into grade.

The good news for us is many of them are off contract now or next season.

OFF CONTRACT NOW: Royce Hunt, Briton Nikora, Franklin Pele.
OFF CONTRACT NEXT SEASON: Sione Katoa, William Kennedy, Ronaldo Mulitalo, Jesse Ramien, Sifa Talakai, Teig Wilton.

And yes, Morris impacted each of the above players. He recruited Pele & Hunt to Sharks and coached the others in NYC.

I hope Morris gets the role because one of his strengths is bringing the playing group together. He is well regarded by Sharks' supporters close to the club who I know.

Dropping Brooks

It was a "report" by James Hooper saying Brooks was to be dropped. To no one's surprise, James Hooper to be wrong once again.

Doubt few if any players will leave the Sharks to follow Morris unless they are discards. It seems like a very settled club, camped around the 8 consistently and gives the juniors some belief that their is scope to succeed
We really need to stop pretending that a change of coach will suddenly attract the type of talent that was not interested before. Discards and mercenaries - until who ever is in charge of recruitment and retention works out which of our own we need to keep and give them something to play for.

I can't see any of them leaving unless the Sharks dont want them, and then if we want them they will probably also have options. Wilton being related may be a chance but it also may be more of a deterrent as well - not every player has the desire to be coached by a family member.
Missed out on too many to allow myself to believe JM can change that. The club needs to provide players a belief that we are going to be successful and we are already sending a message that it's 3 years away. Happy to be proven wrong.

The word out of Yorkshire was that the drop was definitely coming.

He got dropped during the bye round, now he’s back.
