Hastings lock

For me today was Hastings' best game in Tigers colours.

However, I don't think it had anything to do with him playing lock. We basically had Hastings halfback and played two 5/8's, Brooks just sat on the left and Doueihi sat on the right.

If this kind of coaching is what we have to look forward to we all just have to walk away now for our own sanity.

How do u say to your halfback, play lock, beat yourself up in the middle defensively, take some hit ups into the toughest pack in the competition, but still organise everything while the other 2 sit on their edge and relax until it's their time to come up with a poor decision undoing all your good work.

If they do the same next week I'd walk if I was Hastings.

I didn't mind him today although I have no idea what his best position is.

The team selection is not working obviously. I'm really lost what to do.

One has to go.

7 Hastings
6 AD

Has to happen.
We all know they want it to happen.

Club needs to back it.
It's the only way.

I just think Hastings is too much of a lump of a lad for 7.

Same goes with AD too.

I wouldn't mind seeing Hastings at 6.

Only alternative is Madden to 7.

It was a crazy decision to move our best player to prop to move Hastings to lock.Certainly Hastings was ok but why weaken 2 positions?Insanity at it's finest

Don’t overanalyse it. They are clearly going through the motions till the year is out.

Hastings played the first 25 mins at lock and either on his own accord or at noddy's direction, reverted to a traditional halfback role.

Hastings + AD could be the slowest halves combo of all time, but what do we have to lose?

His best game at half since Madge axed. We looked better when the facade was dropped but don't need two 6's.

We are the weakest team physically, so we play 3 halves all game and basically concede the middle. Sheens is back, get on board.

I think Sheens likes to think that he’s revolutionary, but he’s really just throwing darts and hoping something left of field will work so that everyone can call him a genius.

The club don’t see Hastings as a half…he is too slow, defences move up on him quickly, cutting down his time… they see Hastings as a lock, who needs to commit to tackling more than he does….

The club ?

Or the future coaches that start next year ?
