Luke Brooks - Mega Thread

Tell all the stats to give the true perspective.
Brooks tackles made (TM) 384 misses (M) 4.38 tackles per game (PG)
Cleary TM - 215 M - 3.08 PG
Hughes TM- 200 M- 3.13 PG
Moses TM -267 M- 3.41 PG
Clearly, Brooks is forced to make A MILE MORE tackles than all these other top halfbacks . Of course there is going to be more misses. Cleary makes basically HALF the tackles a game Brooks does & Brooks only misses 1.3 tackles more a game.
Once again , it is clear that all the top sides forwards do their job & sheild their playmakers from making those tackles.
And for the record, Cleary averages one try assist per game with all that talent around him.
Brooks averages .5 with limited talent around him. Imagine Brooks making half the tackles he does now, Penriths talent around him running holes & competing for his kicks & a set of dominating forwards.
But boys dont let the truth get in the way of a good story. Keep bagging Brooks till he leaves & then you can start over on Doughie or Hastings or whoever else takes your fancy.

And im sure you would be first to defend any errors brooksy makes, for christsake look at the kids stats, i predicted he would make 40 metres this week, well i have to congratulate him he outdid himself, he made 45. He rarely goes over 40.

This is all a myth.
Look at his stats yesterday. They show that Hastings and Doueihi eclipsed him in every area you just stated he is an asset in.
The truth is, if he didn’t play yesterday, there would have been no noticeable difference to the negative.

I agree. That is why Brooks is better at 6 than 7. I know he played 7 yesterday but the person who actually played that role was Hastings.

Yawn - nothing you provided suggested he is a good defensive half if anything it highlighted more the point he isn’t. Just because other halves aren’t doesn’t dispute the argument that Brooks is a good defensive half - he just isn’t.

sure he makes more tackles but lets look deeper into that because it’s clear teams target him over AD, Hastings and whoever else is playing because he is a liability.

Brooks has moved positions across the park and yet his tackle effectivness hasn’t improved. Teams target him because players either side are drawn in which then creates space and options.

His defensive rate regardless of his position is double his other halves partner (has been last 4yrs) & his effectiveness at Hooker hasn’t changed.

He just isn’t a good defensive halfback.
