The one positive..

is that we played the dogs. Had we played one of the other top 4 teams, we would have been talking cricket scores..
This said, I am expecting (but probably not really believing) the players to come out with the usual dribble of "we owe it to the fans" or "this is unacceptable" - we've heard it all before. The sad reality is that we have a club that is run by an incompetent management group, seemingly diabolically busy swapping deck chairs on the Titanic; a group of players who really don't seem to care (I don't know what Daine Laurie has to smile about, unless he is thinking, what the heck, I am getting paid anyway..) and an interim coach that has been put in a there as yet anothe foil between the club and the media. As fans, it's all well and good for some media outlets to be saying "stick solid" but even the most passionate of us will struggle to find a reason to continue to believe, other than, as I do, think there is only the jersey to love.

I search, and hope, like we all do, for answers, but an outcome remains elusive as ever, I'm afraid. And another season follows the previous.

What I'd like to see is wipe the slate clean; forget appointing yesterday's leftovers and develop a clucb over time that is based on solid grounds and VISION. If this doesn't happen, we may as well continue to live in this makebelief land of West Tigers, and hope that things will get better, even if we don't know how...

The only positive at the moment is the game only goes on 80 mins and you can plan your September holidays at the start of the year as you already know that WT will not be playing past the last round.

No one can take away the 2005 Grand Final Win and I have the T-shirt and DVD just to prove to myself that it did happen.

The bulldogs game was just horrible. Absolute park footy.

The only positive was the try Noffa made. That looked super impressive and would go on a highlights reel.

Also Kimmorley coming out and saying "we have to work on defense". Far out the dogs seemed to walk through our line at a few points. I am blaming Madge on that, we never seemed to get a good defensive plan going. Cayless too, Cmon we had no structure and the players did not trust the guys next to them.

There’s no doubting we have gone downhill since we sacked Maguire. OK, sure, he was a square peg trying to poke through a round hole, but he was our square peg. He had the desire to overcome any negatives.
Has anyone ever seen a very positive person reaching for the sky, while being surrounded by negative workmates who will not acknowledge a good idea unless it comes from one of them?
What can happen sometimes, is the negative group become even more negative.

I’ve been watching the 05 grand final over & over for the last 10 years
It’s the only thing that keeps tigers fans sane 😜

I disagree with your math, i tend to think the figures are opposite. More for the move than against. I think it’s a big gamble and I would of went for Flanagan or waited for the chance of getting Payten later on and kept sheens in there until then. But it can always change down the line, it’s not set in stone..

Why ? I don't buy this line. I think we have some areas that require significant improvements but we have a good junior base and we can go to market.

If we can get a couple of gun juniors to come through I think we can turn the situation around quickly.

the thing is that he had more than enough time to send those incompatible, "negative persons" packing, but he endlessly rotated the same players, our new coach at least gave some young players a chance.

You have to be careful using that Einstein quote, it doesn’t apply to everything, least of all W sets Tigers. We have more changes than a catwalk model, and often those changes is what holds us back.

Maguire was not in a position to treat games like trial matches. We wrote off the season as soon as he was sacked as our position on the table demonstrates.
