Wests Tigers Centre of Excellence

I think u like to highlight the negatives without any facts and forget all the positive he has done for our club and rugby league in general.

Again I am just highlighting its just your opinion I can equally state facts about all the good his done. Ie. Multiple GF, all the NRL PLAYERS ( not forum heros) think he's the best Coach they've had.

It's just your subjective opinion.

Read he's post.

Tim has identified some of our main issues as a club are abandonment of home grown juniors and lack of identity/culture. Tim has come in and improved our local juniors and appointed a coach that gives us identity backbfrom the 05 2012 period.

What's there to argue about that, and I'd you do not like what Tim's doing, what do you propose we do.

Like Tim has said we don't have the third party money at the club to cherry pick the good players like other clubs. So I'd like to know what you want the club to do???

The club is in the poor position you mentioned because it is so poorly managed and you are expecting people to believe that now, things will be different? With the same management? Even going as far to appoint a coach who was punted years ago but this time is different? The coach who sued the club???

I don't have a magic bullet that will fix this mess, but I know there will be no long term success with the current Board, CEO an coach.

We haven't signed anyone close to JC in the backline.

I suppose since Kimmorley has taken over we are now last so the only way is up. Thankfully the will be a reserve grade quality side next year so we shouldn't go to 17th.

Is that more glass half full?
BUT if we did people would still complain

If the club is so poorly managed why are we in such a strong financial position the on field performances have been poor but steps have been taken to rectify the situation with Tim Benji and Robbie they know the club and don't have to learn what needs to be fixed they will hit the ground running with preseason in November then hopefully all you keyboard warrior's and coaches will have nothing to complain about

I get what your saying about admin but not like we have not tried other coaches.

Show me the data you are basing that on please. I bet you can't. If you look at Pascoe's last FY report posted on the WT website you will see some vague graphs with no $$$ added and no real understanding of the metrics used. But yea, super strong cause the tiger orange part is big and the naughty black part is little.

As for the steps taken, the first step was to fire Madge and derail the season without a coach locked in. The coach they actually wanted said no and they went back to the well and hired a coach that they sacked and who sued them and a rookie club hero to win over the fans.
How inspiring.

What a masterstroke.

What's it like living in Narnia?

The problem with this comment though is that you've set him up so poorly that it's pretty easy to refute.

Has he been charged with fraud or anything similar ? If not then your comment is a bit full on.

If you state he doesn't have a history or turning clubs around or massive success that is a more realistic criticism.

My response to the more valid question is that he did pretty well in Canberra as well as the Tigers and players often speak very highly of him.

I also don't see any if many coaches who have long term success with minimal failures excluding Bellamy but Bellamy has been at the Storm who have bought in so many quality players. I really doubt Bellamy picks all of those players.

So I'd like to know what you want the club to do???

You'll get crickets or stupid comments like open the purse strings and pay players like Joshy Reynolds or Moses Mbye marquee dollars.

That is honestly what I hear. It kills me.

We won't know how the next 5 years will turn out but we are going to find out.

I actually think the COE is awesome and I think the video is awesome, thank you for posting. Just don’t feel the same way about our onfield performances.
So your saying that the COE is not going to help with pathways, recruitment and onfield performances?
Why are you linking the two in this topic?..just wondering. 👍

All the hate towards Pascoe and Lee astounds me. I honestly can't get over it.

I will state I understand that the club is terrible in relation to on field results and people need a target or targets but are the board and the CEO really too blame for poor on field results ? I just don't see it.

We've heard from so many coaches and trainers over the years that the weights you put on the bars weigh the same where ever they are or what ever the building looks like.

This of course has been an excuse that has been peddled over the years while we have had very poor facilities, suggesting that it makes very little difference.

Now that we have a Centre of Excellence that has been coming for way too long, do we really expect the players that we have to suddenly turn into super stars?

Do we expect players to start beating down the doors wanting to sign up for the Wests Tigers, it certainly wasn't enough to convince #1 pick coach Cameron Ciraldo to come here.

Really, apart from being a feel good story, is this new facility going to attract new players and is it going to make the ones we currently have better players?

Will they catch or pass a ball better, will they suddenly find that speed and fitness that we are always complaining that they lack, will they suddenly be smarter or quicker between the ears, will it reduce the number of injuries we have or have them return from injuries sooner?

My guess is that it isn't going to make a huge amount of difference on its own but If I can live long enough I guess that in another 10 years we may see whether it has made a discernible difference.

My thoughts only.

I didn't agree with sacking Madge but in business and in life you need to act with integrity. The only right action was to sack Madge if we were looking for a new coach. Lining up the coach prior to sacking Madge would have shown a lack of integrity.

The coach they actually wanted said no and they went back to the well and hired a coach that they sacked and who sued them and a rookie club hero to win over the fans.
They chose the next best option and they have provided a 5 year plan/time frame for their actions to work. I disagree that this was to win over the fans.

I love how you use the Paul Kent line as well. That is pathetic.

What's the Paul Kent line? is that a colloquialism?

I don't see it happening. To me 5kg is 5kg.

I think the area we struggle is paying players out of cap payments. If we did that better I bet our recruitment would improve.

I'm not knocking the COE but I'm also not blaming the board and Pascoe for our on field results. We need a better squad first and foremost.

Nah, the lettuce leaves are being used for flogging our players at training.
Hahaha,
Is that where all lettuce are,
Last night, I went to woolies to get one lettuce, there were three remaining on the shelf that obviously no one wanted because they had very little leaves on them, if i even bought the three of them at $6.90 each they still would not have been the equivalent of the one normal size lettuce,

I might see if i can get one from the CoE Next time i'm driving past there.
