Feldt

We blow up at dives in Soccer and now the NRL. I love a win but outright cheating like that dive is wrong and he needs to be called on it 8 Weeks if you take a dive

I can't hate Feldt, he's just doing everything he can to win the match. I'd expect Tigers players to do the same thing.

What I cannot cop is the NRL facilitating his diving theatrical nonsense.
That’s ok, I can hate him enough for both of us and then some. I agree the NRL is allowing the swan dives & blatant penalty milking.

Let's not forget our Man of Match from yesterday Laurie did the same thing last year and smiled at the camera after getting the penalty.

Say what you want about them, but nicely done by Townsend and Feldt. If our boys were smart enough to do that, I'd be pretty proud of them.

You get away with what you’re allowed to get away with.

I mean Wests in the same position, the slightest touch on a chaser and of course you‘d take a dive. They had one second left to try and get a result 🤣🤣🤣.

Feldt ain’t the villain here - it’s the adjudicators who got it wrong

exactly.

Feldt tried his hand and it paid off. The NRL have allowed players to take dives for too long and this has manifested as a result.

The officials are the villians for making up the rules on the fly and manufacturing the outcome.
The escort rule has become the NRL's equivalent of diving in soccer. Escort and obstructions, although because they have reasonably tidied up the obstruction interpretation (catch ball on outside, contact on inside shoulder only) there are less avenues for defenders to dive for obstructions.

Yeah, it's not just limited to escorting and obstruction though.

You see players nearly get decapitated in Origin, they get up and play the ball, go back to club footy on the weekend, cop a light brush of the pinky on the jawline and go down like they've been shot.

I agree, but I will concede that Origin refereeing has never been of the same design as regular season, and it never will.

Origin is almost a separate form of the game. I don't believe any fans should expect exactly the same style of management or interpretation in Origin as in regular-season football. Same as the rules also change for international footy.

Yeah I agree. He went for the miracle play and the stupid officials obliged him. They are the bad guys even though his actions are against the spirit of the sport.
he's one of the biggest tools on the field, doesn't take much to hate that idiot

I'd be disgusted with them to be honest. All that proves is that you have to take the easy way out and not work hard for the win. It's a copout for the lazy players. Simple as that.

Who even cares if Feldt fell down. He was still 7 metres away and wouldn't of got there anyway.. the call was so wrong on so many levels. Klein needs to be dropped from all future Tigers games.

So are we saying Brooks has never dived? I remember him getting a few penalties running into blokes and then diving. Laurie last year was hit a little high, stayed on the ground for 2 minutes, got the penalty, winked at the camera and smiled.

Where I draw the line is "faking an injury". Diving in the 80th minute when you got body checked a little is well within the ethics of the game IMO. I get we are all hurting but Townsend and Feldt did everything they could to win- I'd want our boys to do the same except fake an injury.

I missed the game live, I read about it and then I saw the replay. I may have felt different if I saw it live but thinking about it- it's smart play by them. The team that wins the comp is the one that pushes boundaries the most.

Penrith won last year because they would continuously pull the markers away- they did it better than anyone else.

If you are going to condone diving you may as well condone faking an injury - they are both poor sportsmanship. I fail to see how you can pick and choose which form of cheating is in the "ethics" of the game and which one isn't.
