Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Since Sheens and Bellamy appear to be assisting each other with player swaps maybe WT can send some of their players to the Storm in the offseason to see how hard they work plus I believe they still have to do a couple of weeks of "real work" like a brickie Labour just to understand how luck they are to be a well paid sportsperson. That would be a real eye opening to some of our young players.
Laurie could learn a few things off Billy Slater.
Brooks/Hastings and AD could learn off Jerome Hughes about game management.

Understand Garry.
There is a few reason I don't mind it TBH:
1 - This 100k could be put onto Brooks contract for this year which helps us spend more next year or if we are going to let him walk it will be easier to off load at a lower salary.
2 - we are not making finals so this give some younger guys a go and we might find a suprise player that stands out.
3 - if some rumours are true and Nofo's attitude is not good this might wake him up a little or show him how hard you need to work to make finals.

It's a win win for me
Can’t happen that way.

A contract is a contract and if your expected the chance for WT or any team for that matter to be able to front load a salary mid contract it isn’t possible.

If the money is to go towards Brooks contract it happens one of two ways.

Either he gets a new contract extension by increasing his current deal using the current saved cap money and restructuring the contract.

Or another player offcontract next year is presented with the same option. Which effectively by reducing their salary for next year your reducing the impact of Brooks salary on the cap.

Or
By promoting a dev or train and trial player to the squad this year and commencing that contract immediately by using the money saved in this years cap.

Except they're sending Mr Ferrari , not Laurie and Brooks 😂🔥

Regarding comments that our centres lack speed, . Can anyone advise me if we have specialist sprint coaches working with the backs ? I know Cook and JAC just to name a couple that have lauded the value of these sessions. Surely this would standard in todays game!
I think I seen somewhere James Roberts was sprint training with addo Carr at start of year with a sprint coach

Anyone know why Moses Leota isn’t in panthers first grade, has he been out? If not I’m trying to convince him, he’s exactly the type of forward we need.

The king Doueihi rant on here amazed me. Was it the backlash from the ante- Brooks bashers ?

I really like him. That offload and run he did played a big part in us winning that game.

He may be talked up too much due to the Brooks haters but I also would have put money on our halves pairing this year ending up Hastings and Doueihi. Now I'm not sure what will happen.

Maybe it's wrong to compare them.

Yeh he's someone I like.
He was a late withdrawal last week presumably having trouble with his shoulder that he injured at start of the year.

Nofa definitely going to Melbourne for the rest of the year, he is currently in reserve grade based on form, this move is intended to get him some experience while allowing him to play first grade. Will free up cap space as Melbourne will pay him for the rest of the year.
I obviously am going against the grain, but I would have Nofa on the right wing, Ken on the left, with Naden and Kepoa in the centres, IMHO that is our best backline at the moment

YOUNG GUN ON THE OUTER AT MANLY

I'm hearing all is not well between Manly and talented utility Josh Schuster.

Schuster has been hailed as the next big thing at Brookvale for several years but you only had to look at his body language - and seven errors - against the Dragons last weekend to see something isn't right.

Schuster was promised the No.6 jersey a couple of years ago… but lost out to Kieran Foran, who Schuster was told would be moved to hooker.

Last weekend, even with regular hooker Lachlan Croker out, Foran kept the five-eighth spot and Schuster remained on the bench.

The big guy has talent but hasn't lived up to the hype and the Sea Eagles believe he is carrying too much weight, adding to the tension.

Don't be surprised if he is wearing another team's colours in 2023.

A couple of years ago he was great but now I'm not so sure. He just looks lazy and mistake prone.
