Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

So we let go of Mikaele, Luch, Nof and now poss Gildart.
Gotta of freed up some cash.
Also got hastings, Brooks, stef, Garner and Talua out.
That doesnt leave many players in the top 30

Mika, Nofa and Gildart wouldn't free much up maybe 100-150kk, Lucy maybe 200k.

Add to that we were already under the cap, makes you wonder what the cash is going towards.

In order to move salary around and change a contract I would think the NRL + players + clubs needs to approve it so maybe it's more allocated to some of the younger kids over payments being brought forward prior to Nov 1 (next seasons cap).

Just trying to get my head around how many we have in our current Top 30 squad (prior to any loan outs).

We did have 30 in the squad after Naden was recruited. Then we have lost Mikaele, Luciano & from forum reports Kei. So that leaves 27. I read somewhere that we can count Luciano in our 30, so that leaves 2 spots to fill.

I'm tipping this will be an upgrade of Nu Brown from Train & Trial to Top 30 (including 2023 as @THE_POM mentioned) & upgrade of Fonua Pole from Development to Top 30 (as this upgrade will be at a bare minimum in the salary cap).

Let's see how today plays out!

We know from that article Madden is unsigned for next year. If he were in plans surely he would have been re-signed before now. Sheens, Brooks and Marshall no doubt have firm views on the halves. I trust them.
You would think so wouldn't you.

If they wanted to hang on to Jock you would think they would have locked him up by now to get him on a reasonably low contract.

If Brooks goes and then they try to sign up Jock, he obviously would want reasonable sort of money as the #1 half at the club.

Add to this the dollars that may be required to move Brooksy on, Jacko needs to be up graded if they want him to stay and Doueihi isn't on peanuts and would want an upgrade at some stage.

Maybe the club are waiting to see how Jock goes at half back without Jacko and are yet to make a decision based on how that works out.

I'm really not sure what will happen but I have a gut feeling that Luke is here next season.

One thing that you have to remember is that this is the Wests Tigers and nothing what so ever should ever surprise you, I just hope Sheens gets it right.

Can someone help this simple brain of mine ? How much do we have to spend for next year ? What is the timeline or cut off time for signings, i'm confused .
Only thing I know is 2022 cap for all 16 clubs is $9.4 mill for top 30 squad
Next year cap goes up .I think we only have 27 in our squad because I read we could add 3 before aug 1st .I think we have some room in our cap but now don't expect much activity till November

Was I imagining it or did I read we were signing Aiden Tolman for the rest of the year. Was that a joke? He's experienced at least and we are running out of forwards...
