Team List vs Cronulla

Joe to 13 is good. But Pole and who else are the bench props? Aren't Dias and Freebairn both backrowers?

I agree with the criticism of Peachey's inclusion. I criticised his recruitment. He's treated us with disrespect since. Surely we should return the favour. Get Jake Simpkin back in.

Joffa can play close to 70-80 effective minutes in the middle, he'll move to prop to partner Pole and Freebairn will play that link role in 13 from the bench. Peachey will play hooker for Nu. I don't agree with the selections but that is how it will play out.

So given that Garner, Simpkin & Tumeth are not named in NSW Cup, we must be taking a squad of 20 to Tamworth.

I wouldn’t read much into the 17 selected then. Fair chance Garner comes in & possibly Tumeth on the bench. Why would they just take Tumeth for the team bonding when they took him to Brisbane for a non-playing weekend? He needs game time.

I know I’ll probably be jumped on but I’d still like to see Laurie have a run at 5/8 before the seasons over, his junior and early senior position. Would be good to see him with his hands on the ball more often. Only issue I see is his size.
Then we could move AD to right centre, where in my opinion, he should be.
I can see a Ewan Mcgrady in Daine.

I'm not expecting much against the Sharks; however, there are few things that I got out of re-watching last weeks game that give me warm feelings in the loins in relation to where we are heading. They are things that we can build on; there ate also a couple issues that need to be addressed immediately.

1. Laurie is starting to push up in behind the ruck looking for some second phase ball. This is a clear indication of intent - if we can get some quick ball (peachy can't be at 9) there are opportunities to be exploited. It didn't happen last week but at least it is now an attacking option.

2. Putting ADs poor defense aside for a moment - he tried to add variety to his kicking game. A chip, some unsuccessful attempts to roll the ball in behind the line and a few good floaters. He doesn't position himself in sets well and that is something that was probably easier with Hastings playing the link role. If the WT coaching staff are on the ball they will have addressed this during the week. I'm not won over on AD as a 5/8 at all - but if we intend to stick with it we need to see this sort of improvement this week.

3. Straightening the attack. Madden and AD failed to dig into the line and bring the outside backs to the advantage line so we were always being pushed sideways. Again this is an attitude thing. The week prior Madden popped some great short balls at the advantage line. This would be obvious in the video review so something that I would like to see more of this week from AD and Madden.

4. We need someone other than Peach in at hooker if Nu can't go the distance. Our attack is stifled from the ruck when Peach is there - he has no idea of what a real hooker does for a living. Either Nu goes for 80 or a Hooker needs to be on the bench. Interesting to see if there will be any changes to the named 17.

5. Our line speed was nonexistent in the first half last week. This is all about attitude and I expect subconsciously they thought they would just roll off the win and the Knights would simply crumble. This is on the coaching staff - they didn't get them up for the game. There was something seriously amiss after what has been building. They had more intent in the second half and, despite an attack that was hapless at times, finally put some points on the board. Win the ruck - win the game!

Finally - and I'm not advocating this - but If Peachy has to be in the side FFS he must be used as a ball playing lock or simply cover for the backline. He will completely stifle what little attack we have with his lethargic efforts at the ruck. If the coaching staff couldn't see that last weekend they are blind.

As well as the Sharks have been travelling they haven't racked up any big scores. If we have the right attitude in Defence from the get go, it will set the attacking mindset. If AD and Madden have a dig into the line this week I think we can give the Sharks a good scare!

I'm taking a punt with +12.5

Tough stance considering the club have played him out of position most of the season.
Don't think he has a position TBH. Just his seemingly casual, indifferent attitude should be enough for him to be in KOE Cup IMO. Would much rather a talentless bloke who busts a gut whenever he gets an opportunity over a guy with natural talent who just goes through the motions fudging a paycheck.
Club's focus should be on getting commitment and sustained effort out of our roster instead of gifting blokes first grade gigs.

That what a coach is for.

Yep. A reserve-grade coach. If a player doesn't put in the effort he shouldn't be anywhere near 1st grade.
Kimmorley probably doesn't really care at this point, he hasn't got a coaching gig next year.
