Kitione Kautoga #261

This kid has been around the group at least as far back Nov 2020 (maybe earlier)
Anyone got anything on him - I've not seen him around much this year or last, But he's still about.... in the 24 this week - I'm guessing rated somewhat?
Appreciate any info...

His stats are limited, as only 2 appearances in KOE

Most ‘wow’ factor potential in all of the younger players, just hasn’t stayed fit for any period of time the last 2 years at WT. Originally from the Sharks SG Ball.

2nd Row
2 appearances
Average running meters - 35
Total running meters - 70
Tackle efficiency - 72%
No tries

Yes, he was in the Sharks' Pathways Academy.

Big body, edge back-rower who can ball play.

Has been tested at NSW Cup level this year and impressed, albeit got bumped off a few times in D for tries (only turns 20 this year so has a lot of improvement to go).

Has one more year of Jersey Flegg in 2023 but looks like he’s just about ready to take the next step into senior-level footy full-time from next year.

Playing Jersey Flegg this week (most of our gun juniors are being picked in that team at the moment, at the expense of having a very weak NSW Cup side as we have a chance to make Jersey Flegg finals, whereas Magpies are second last).

He’s #11 in the above video, our game starts at 4:35 minutes.

Yeah he has really struggled to string consecutive games together this year due to injuries. In the games he has played, he usually figures in the highlights (whether it be for his hole running, strength, passing game). He seems to be the most likely prospect and good to see him named in the squad this week. Definitely a talent and I hope the club value him moving forward.

Don’t know much about this kid apart from on here. Sounds very positive and I’m excited. Tough game to leave your mark, but after 10:top grade games he’ll know himself if he’s up to it. I wish him all the best and hopes he finds his feet and place in our WT squad for many years to come.

Cheers for that....
Was more wondering what's been going on with him for the last 2 years,
I assumed he was gone.

Good to see there are big bodies coming through....

Games I've seen of him, he always stood out and I believe he'll go on to play nrl. You just get that feeling sometimes when watching younger players. Big body and can ball play too .

What I also like, Is he's doing a lot of it on his own....
Sometimes you'll see a kid come through and his halves will make him look like a superstar (Lamar)
the Halves in the juniors aren't superstars....
From what I've seen there, He's taking options and making ground off his own back.
Good to see....

He did it all in those highlights. Long cut out pass for a try. Scored one himself with good footwork/speed/power. Catches a bomb and then puts a 20m grubber into the in goal to set up another try.

Big, fast, skilful. Hopefully he can remain injury free and improve his defence.

As much as we'd all like to see Kautoga crack FG, give it time, needs a full pre-season. Clear the injuries and hopefully he makes an appearance sometime next season. As someone mentioned, Tumeth is ahead of him and he hasn't even cracked FG yet either.
Without hesitation, they will both come good.
correct , I agree, Mata also in the same category, don’t want to expose them to thrashings just yet. Only Pole is ready so far.

You do realise he's done the past two NRL preseasons with us, and been training with the first grade squad for the past 2 years, right?

He's already better than Tuilagi and will have more impact than Seyfarth. He should play against the dragons to give him a taste for next season.
