I had the displeasure of living in the parra area during the early 80’s, my first girlfriend at school ditched the magpies to go for the eels after they won the gf, I ditched the [This word has been automatically removed] shortly after. Yeah nearly died at Lidcomde pools 10m, went to jump when some idiot gave me the all clear but someone was still swimming, grabbed the rail to try and stop but it flung me round and I fell missing the edge by mm’s. My mate watched it from above and my Aunty saw it happen from the grass area. I went straight back up and jumped again. Gotta get back on the horse. Mum packed up and took us home after that.

Wow , yeah I’ve been there to next to Lidcombe oval.
I remember once the lifeguard put me on show and made me jump the 10 m one after climbing up there. Sh1t myself doing it, but lucky I survived.

Ahhh . . . Lidcombe pools.
Takes me back to the scrawny 10 yr old kid that finally summoned the courage to jump from top tower.
Take the shortcut in the canals and jump out right next to the front door. Only 20c to get in. Guaranteed sunburn and a slip or 2 on the wet tiles around the pools. None of this non slip safety shit back then.
Then a nice slow walk on the grassed hill to try and catch a few boobie spills out of the bikini's.
Those were the days.

Those were the days, no fear. Lasted for a while. Now though, I’m scared rain drops might hurt me. Everything seems to hurt these days.
