Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

He’s fatigued, from what, playing, training or other.
Biggest load of crap, by him and Broncs, I've ever seen.
Same with the South’s winger !
Let’s hear it in unison “mental health issues”, that’s a reliable crutch.
Toughen up boys , or get a real job !
I think we forget how old he is and where he has come from he’s a quit indigenous boy from the country who has burst onto the screen as a 19 year old it takes guts from him to go to the coaching staff and say I’m not fully ready for this game can I sit out because I don’t want to let the team down

I think this is a bit much following the recent death of Paul Green. like any job, players and staff should be able to take time away from the game if they've burnt the candle at both ends. there's more to life than footy, credit for Selwyn for putting his hand up and saying he's not up to it.

as for Paulo, the amount of death threats he was receiving was enough for the bloke to never set foot on a field again. players are human and being in the public eye can affect mental health immensely.

TPJ anyone for $400k?
at that price Ofcourse.
But I remember the hoodoo of TPJ and Dale Finucane when we were recruiting. TPJ is surely a player with a lot of potential and Wayne Bennett rates him highly. He has sunk at the dogs. Dale Finucane offered Cronulla a lot of leadership in the second row.

Cronulla with: Gallen, Lewis, Fifita, Matt Prior and a stack of good second row leadership. Yet they back...Culture and Leadership and sign Dale Finucane.

Anyone we sign of TPJ caliber will raise our front row. Naturally it would take 600k to actually get him but yes...

$600k still a bargain.

IMHO, most of people focus on the house roof: gable, hip, flat or sunroof?! And they think the foundation will be built by wishful thinking and "she'll be right"??
Fact: we have by far the worst NRL forwards ATM, and adding a backrower will not do much!
So, to paraphrase realtors saying "Props, props, props"!

List of realistic targets imo we should look at:

- Liam Martin
- Payne Hass
- Josh Schuster
- Tevita Pangai Jr
- Dylan Brown
- Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow
- Bradman Best (shopped around)
- Tyson Frizzel
- Joe Tapine
- Lachlan Miller
- Jesse Ramien
- Royce Hunt
- Siosifa Talaki
- Nelson Asofa-Solomona
- David Klemmer
- Scott Drinkwater
- Griffin Neame
- Jeremiah Nanai
- Spencer Leniu

All available to talk November 1st or even sooner....

Personally I'm looking at Liam Martin, Payne Hass, Lachlan Miller and Griffin Neame/Spencer Leniu

You rightly have your opinions and I have mine.
I hope both both of them are ok and wish no I’ll will to either.

Manage it better.

These guys are under WAY to much stress and the wrong coaches tend to bring players who Choke and not allow them to handle the pressure.
Ofcourse everyone chokes. Cam Smith once booted 1 from 9 at a Grand final (I was teaching in PNG and he did the sign of the cross and got that 1 goal, the students literally screamed at him when he took the next kick without the sign of the cross.... PNG an interesting place).

We need to be aware of this and manage this better. Right coaches, right coaching and right attitude. Ash Taylor is a perfect example, Titans placed so much pressure on the kid and he Chokes. Kane Elgey likewise. If Wayne was coaching them, both players would have gone further.
