Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Yeah, not very fussed.. Has to do
What is best for him the young
Fella, he's one of the good guys
Jock I wish him well - would be
Good if he went back to his jnr
Club and represented the knights

No idea where the Brad Parker
Stuff is coming from. Don't like
it either way paws, not the tonic.
Demps dropped his name a few posts back, probs just for laughs. Demps is now sitting back laughing at the desperate Tigers supporters.

I think we have enough ability in the backs for 2023 and really need to spend money on forwards as most games are won in the forwards (Storm vs Roosters game is a prime example of this) and over the last couple of years that is where WT lose the contest.

Klemmer, Lodge, Sua would be high on my shopping list.

Imagine the damage this pack could do

Klemmer (Prop from Knights)
Koroisau
Lodge (Prop from Easts)
Su'A (second rower from St George)
Papalii
Hastings

Pole
Musgrove/Twal
Nu Brown or Ngatikaura (Utility)
Blore

It would give some of the promising juniors some more time to develop.

I would even release Brooks to obtain Klemmer and then play Hastings at half back and Nu Brown at lock.

Sheens loves Brooks so that's it . Sorry Madden doesn't matter if you've got potential and are a very instinctive player . Your individual try should have won the game and great try assist for freebairn 2nd try also .
All that for maybe a quarter of the Brooks price .
Sheens knows best ? Does he ?
Hell probably extend Brooks to end 2027 .I hope not a a million a year

Perhaps Sheens considers Brooks to be a better option than Madden If he is extended that is fine. No one is aware of his contract value (or its context) except those who should know. Madden is also a good young player but he wants to play NRL so will leave for another club. I am disappointed but understand the reasons. Kade Hill will have the opportunity to progress to NSW Cup and the NRL. He is a very good young player.

Promising Wests Tigers halfback Jock Madden, who scored a slashing solo try in the narrow loss to the Dragons on Sunday, is set to quit the club.

The Tigers have a host of playmakers in their ranks including Luke Brooks, Adam Doueihi, Jackson Hastings and Madden and the former Australian Schoolboy believes he has a greater chance of playing first grade elsewhere.

Penrith and the Bulldogs are both believed to be interested in Madden.

The Panthers have lost their back-up half Sean O'Sullivan to the Dolphins while there are question marks over the future of Bulldogs playmaker Kyle Flanagan.

Madden has ability - he showed that with a dazzling 50-metre burst against the Dragons in which he broke the line and then beat the fullback to score.

"The Tigers just haven't given him much of a chance and we feel he will do better at another club," Madden's manager Gavin Orr told Wide World of Sports.

Tigers boss Tim Sheens said the club would be sorry to lose Madden.

"He can play and he is a good kid but we just don't have room for him in our 13," Sheens said.

"We have other players with more experience who we have committed to."

Have they committed to us though? Not so sure.

It's clear we are opening up the cap for 24 beyond.

In 23 we already have Brooks/AD/Hastings locked up who are all better options in the halves than Madden. We also still have Peachey & potentially Brown on the books + Hill and co coming through. Alot of money would be locked into the halves for us next year.

Madden I doubt would sign with us for a 1yr deal either. What's the point when he hasn't stepped up when he had an awesome opportunity to do so this year to offer him a longer deal?

I like young Madden but perhaps the club is looking long term at Kade Hill as a better prospect? Sheens, Marshall and Farah are three great judges to have of football talent.

I am really concerned about our ability to recruit ,improve our roster and become a top 8 team next year
Lets look at what we have achieved in this area in the last year !
Moved Mbye on but still paid half his salary
Recruited Korisau and Papalii 10 months ago WELL DONE
Recruited Naden mid year was opportune as he seemed to fall out with dogs
Lost Mikhalae ,Leulua , and now Garner and Tuilagi
Lost maybe temporary Nofoaloma and Gildardt
Losing Madden Retiring Tamou
In last 3 or 4 months when it was possible to sign a couple of stars before their deals done with other clubs we've recruited ZERO
I suspect they tried but with no luck
We are regarded generally as a no go zone because of results and a background image of having a toxic environment
IMO we have only 2 stars on our books Doeuhi and Hastings
who I think sometimes wish they were elsewhere
The 2 additional stars to come next year is not enough !

Don't mind Madden but Prefer to put the time and effort into Kade Hill.
