Jackson Hastings #251

Interesting stat:

We have not won a single game this year without Hastings.

In the one-point wins against Eels and Bunnies, he was instrumental. And we won two out of the three games when he moved to lock, only losing to Panthers (top of the ladder, probable premiers) by two points due to a missed conversion and some help from the refs.

It is obvious that he is the key to the next few years. He's our Cooper Cronk. He's our brains. Just needs some cattle around him.

was jackson playing in the game we beat the cowboys?

His time in the Uk obviously not only improved his footy but also his attitude.
When he came we were dubious but I think he’s shown us what sort of man he’s become.
He’s got a footy brain and those guys can lift a team !
Hope he’s signed soon and back on deck for WC, if he’s fit, and then RD 1 2023. I’d make him captain .
You’d never guess but I’m a huge fan. Onya Jacko.
Go Tigers.

The team was getting used to playing his style. Man I loved the way we were playing even though we weren't winning games. We gotta re-sign him.

4 wins from 13 appearance. Not exactly earth shattering.

But still one of our best.

How scary. he stays fit and we may have finished 12th.

Not a lot has been made of Jackos numbers in lock in terms of measuring the impact as a lock. Asside from being an extra ball player and a bloody good one at that, Jacko was probably our most effective middle forward or at least matched Joffa’s efforts in attack and defence.
From playing half and 5/8 and averaging less than 20 tackles a game Jacko went to avg 150m , 38 tackles and just over 2 missed a game.
If he can add a bit of sting to his tackles and some leg speed following through the ruck like a Ruben Cotter he will be well placed to be a very good long term lock.
