If I ignore players that are not 1st grade standard what do we have
- Laurie - tries his guts out his light frame gets pummelled
-Nofoaloma - good hands ,meters , finisher , hope attitude positive
- Maumalo - good finisher , often busted,must get body fit
- Toa - was knights bench winger . At best depth winger
- Douehi - attacking flair wish he'd play center as we don't have any
- Brooks - occasionally great ,problem kicking game 5th tackle options
- Hastings- could be 6,7 or 13 main organizer captain
- Utoikimano - Our only power tackle busting fwd ,often injured
- Korisau - great , hope its not just for the money
- Musgrove - borderline 1st grade one in every 3 games very good
- Papalii- great - but is he coming ? Is he willing ?
- Blore - complete unknown after so long out of game
- Rua Ngatkaura - good utility ,hooker but guessing a bit
- Naden - Winger , Center best if nofo and Kenny playing
- Pole - promising depth fwd needs a couple more kgs
- Matamua - promising but long way to go ,hope he's learnt the rules
- Junior Toupu - a maybe ?
-Simpkin - fill in hooker

That's it 18 , please we need minimum 3 top class recruits being 1 back and 2 forwards ,I mean top class 600k - 800k +
Please only add development players to the list that show signs of being 1st grade standard but not those that have been tried in top grade and consistently failed or those that you know will not cut it now or ever !

If my list of 18 hasn't grown to 24 by mid Nov then the bottom 4 finish and continued fans pain is guaranteed .

Laurie has the potential to be one of our best, if not our best player. He could play fullback or 5/8.

Pole is in our 17 now, better than nearly all our front row options except Utoikamanu.

Brooks one of our best, if not our best.

Brooks ain’t even close to being one of our best let alone our best. Just out of curiosity and no offence intended but how can you think a player that has poor 5th tackle options, kicks the ball dead in goal on multiple occasions during a game, kicks it out on the full when trying to do a simple kick and overall lacks communication with his teammates one of our best?
 
A lot of players who missed the top 8 seem to be pulling out of the World Cup to focus on improving their club performances. I think joffa is the only 1 who deserves to play for his country this year the rest should focus on recovery and getting 100% fit and ready for next year instead of going to the World Cup to boost there market value

I reckon @pawsandclaws1 is correct. It's not necessarily a good thing. Brooks would be one of our best players and I don't think anyone who thinks differently actually watched us with an unbiased opinion this season. I reckon Brooks definitely out performed Doueihi and probably Laurie this year.

Joe O and Hastings were our best. Then probably Brooks.

I just commented on Burton getting $750k per year for 4 years. There is no way any player in our squad is worth that amount and I bet Brooks and Doueihi are on close to that or in Brooks case more.

I think we have a good amount of talent that can come through. Pole, Stef, Blore, Kautoga, Matamua etc. Then we have IP and Api coming to the club.

I think it's all meaningless unless our top tier players step up.

I think the biggest change we can make is to the coach (which the club has done) and the way we play the game. A game plan which matches the skillsets of the players in the squad is so important.

I hope so but that isn't an excuse for those guys under performing massively this season. Are they the guys to take us forward ? Atm I don't think they are.

I agree with you that Joffa and Hastings were our best this year, but I don’t think Brooks would have been 3rd honestly I don’t think we really had a 3rd best this year and if there is a close one IMO it would be Ken Mamualo. Doueihi and Laurie did struggle this year hopefully 2023 is better for them as well as the whole club but if we really want to go forward I simply can’t see it happening with Brooks here. Think it would be best for all parties to go their seperate ways and try something else.
 
I can’t possibly see either of Munster or Moses ever coming to us. They both have far better more suitable options available to them and i am really surprised that Sheens would be wasting his time and energy on these delusional fantasies. I am more hoping that he is working hard behind this smokescreen on a few quality players that can help us build a roster for 2023 and further into 2024 when we’ll have more wriggle room and better options to choose from.
The way i see it we have a lot to work on with our current group of young guys and need to show the marketplace that we have something worth joining at the Tigers. We need to prove ourselves as a club on the rise with a squad of talented and resilient young competitors and this is unfortunately a process of a couple of seasons. The important element to make this happen is some quality leadership on the field in key areas. Api and Papi are a good start but not enough - another couple of forwards are needed to assist them.
I don’t believe that Moses would be as consistent a performer in our current squad. Munster probably not either.
