Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

that's why they want him to stay at tigers, ok
Ok but let’s take a look at this logically.
Benji/ Robbie played next to Brooks and I am sure Tim said, “is this guy really worth keeping”. And Benji/ Robbie must have said yeah ! And Tim said “alright he is our new special project so we are not letting him go”
Otherwise Brooks would be looking for a flat in Merewether.
So how, fellow Forumites, are the new coaching team going to maximise his performance?
A new position, nah, a new partner ( at the club, not socially), or some sort of frontal lobotomy to exorcise the evil spirits of the past 9 years and make him truly great.
Personally, Brooks confuses me, coz I’m not sure that he actually gets it and really feels emotionally involved. In most interviews, both before and after a game, he displays very little passion or emotion for the Tigers and yet eg Hastings spent many weeks this year defending him and having everyone believe that he was harassed and misunderstood.
I just don’t know ……

The situation can change pretty quickly. I'm sure the Pom gets his news from the club but I've seen the situation change quickly. Not long ago Peachy for Staines was a done deal and now it's not mentioned.
Well it was mentioned by the Pom the other day, Staines wants a longer term deal and we, at this stage, are not prepared to give him that.
And Peachy, what exactly do we do with him if we can’t get rid of him. He could take up a VIP roster position , a very tricky one.
But I do get and acknowledge your point about fast change.

Brooks is more a running 5/8 not an organising half, Yet they keep giving him the 7 jumper.
Adam Doueihi is a 5/8, Hastings is an organising half with a crap kicking game & slow.
We need Mitch Moses.

1/8/2022 · Sheens said it was his intention to keep Brooks and Doueihi together as the halves combination, with Jackson Hastings the ball playing lock. Sheens also has a good opinion of young Jock Madden but sees him as a work in progress given his limited experience. Newcastle coach Adam O'Brien is keen on Luke Brooks. Picture: NRL Imagery
Adam Obrian has already on more than 1 occasion proven to be a halfwit, so no surprise there that he sees something in Brooks that most of us realists on here don't .
