Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I considered this

1. Brooks is contracted until end of 23 with WTs.
2. Sheens and our Chair (and Marshall as well) have a high opinion of Brooks and stated he will be here in 23 and they want him to remain post 23 as a one club player.
3. If Brooks were to leave, it would not be to the Knights.
4. I'd back Sheens, Marshall and Farah over anyone the Knights have to offer in terms of negotiations.
5. Brooks has demonstrated over the years his loyalty to WTs. I admit it appears that was tested by Maguire ball but now Sheens, Farah and Marshall are here we are back on track.
Who cares about his ‘loyalty’?
He’s getting massive overs for being loyal and not producing anything decent for years.
He is not a halfback.
Goes ok one slot out from what we saw this year.

You see failure upon failure, I see matters very differently.

I view the solution to WTs' past issues demands a holistic approach with a strategic vision of what can be achieved. There is a lot that is happening in this space; our books are good, the COE is built, another planned at UWS, our best juniors are retained, our engagement with Campbelltown and the Macarthur region has significantly improved, we have many good people such as Matthew Betsey involved in Pathways. I read Shannon Gallant is involved in the Campbelltown/Macarthur region. The signing of so many of our very talented U15s in this region suggests we have learnt from the past.

I couldn't imagine any sales pitch from the Knights to be appealing. To me, with the existing coach in place it just doesn't appear to be the place to be. Klemmer may be able to expand on this matter.

PS - Brooks has had a relationship with Sheens for years, also with Marshall and Farah. I recall reading an article many years ago that Sheens went to the Brooks' family home to sign him to the club. I believe these relationships will matter when arrangements are finalised for post 23.
We all hope your optimism pays dividends one day paws. If we don’t sign a few stars in November, it won’t be 2023.
