Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Kenny didn't do much wrong last year and he was on one leg. In an ideal world we're moving Nofoaluma on first.
Sheens mentioned you get 7 chances to score during a game and you must convert 4 of those to win. Having wingers with genuine pace who can score from anywhere on the field maximises your chances. I've posted this before but watch at 3.16 - Sironen to Simona and then to Korobeite to score with non other than Thurston all over him. A brilliant try made possible through genuine pace in the centre and wing positions.

I agree that speed is key out wide (especially speed off the mark,) and we should definitely be gearing toward that. This being said, Ken works like a dog out of our own half, scored as many tries as his wing partner, and that's with Nofo having a clear benefit of playing six matches outside a much better outfit at Melbourne.

Nofoaluma should be moved on before Maumalo. The pack should be addressed before we start looking at our wingers too.

No argument about Mamaulo, he worked hard even when injured.

I think so. I get it is subjective and I can't stand Tedesco but I think Koro is better.

Faster, stronger and a much better career at a higher level.
Of course it's subjective, but, much better career?

Tedesco has captained his country, his state and won 2 premierships in the premier sport between the two. He plays a more integral and complicated position, creates and prevents more points, and requires a far greater skillset.

Unless of course you think that Rugby is a 'higher level' than Rugby League...

Wild take, ma dude.

I think anyone stating anything differently is not really viewing the situation rationally or in reality anywhere close to it.

Rugby is a much bigger sport with a much larger participation across the world.

Comparing League to Rugby is like comparing Softball to Cricket.

I'm not a fan of watching Union but the level is so much higher.

Compare the league world cup to the Union world cup. Compare NZ Rugby league team to the Rugby team. What about South Africa and England.

League is big but mostly in Qld and NSW.

And just imagine Potter wanted him to stay so much beg for him to stay and the board overruled him and let him go to Melbourne if there ever was a need for a public stoning I think a few old board members mite be in the line up

Participation rates of comparable sports is not indicative of the 'level'.

This is a strawman.

Those are two completely different arguments. If you think making the Wallabies is orders of magnitude greater than making the Kangaroos, particularly in the modern era in which this discussion is based, either you're exaggerating for effect, or you're conflating the two different variables. I guess it is also possible that you genuinely think that the Wallabies is a much more difficult squad to get access to than the 'roos. That opinion is (somehow) rationally possible for someone to think.

The NZ rugby/League comparison is a moot point. We're talking about two Australian players, therefore I suggest that that comparison is irrelevant. If you're comparing the All Blacks to the Kiwis, then, yes, I agree, that team, and by default, the level required to reach admission to that team, is higher.

But alas, we're not. So that is a false equivalency.

I love the way you talk with variables and stuff. I love that stuff but we are talking BS opinions. If we are talking facts then League is a little two bit game where the highest level is probably NSW vs QLD. Union is just so much higher than this. Koro has killed it at that level. Tedesco will never get the opportunity to perform at those levels.

I worked with a Kiwi guy who loved Union. He thought SBW was hopeless. He was a great league player.

It's just very very different levels.

I don't like Union as a sport. I find it boring. I love league but it's a small sport.

Well why do so many average league players play international rugby almost straight after switching codes, the standard must be considerably lower in rugby

My guy, you're right, they are opinions, but if you're gonna back yours up, you've got to understand what logical fallacies are..

League is a little two bit game where the highest level is probably NSW vs QLD. Union is just so much higher than this. (Non-sequitur. It does not follow that simply because the highest standard is a state-based game in one sport and an internationally-based game in the other, that the default is that one is better than the other on that basis alone. Much less 'so much higher')

I worked with a Kiwi guy who loved Union. He thought SBW was hopeless. He was a great league player.
(
Anecdote. Personal experience or opinion, when used in evidence or support of an argument is redundant)

I don't like Union as a sport. I find it boring. I love league but it's a small sport.
(Strawman. The size of the sport was not the point you were making).

However, you're right. these are silly opinions (especially yours 😉) that don't belong in this thread, so let's just throw handbags at 10 paces and agree on a completely different topic in a couple of threads' time, eh?
