I met Chicka a few times, a great bloke, a tough half. A very close friend of the great Bob Fulton, as they played Union in the army. Very sad news,Sorry to hear that. Condolences to his family and brother Bob.

Not sure about a good move. Don't think it's a bad move either. He's out best halfback but that's not saying much. If we have Hastings,Brooks and Douhie for next few years you can catch he top 8 good bye.I love how we hear Hastings is on the outer so all start convincing our selfs it’s a good move hahaha
Is it possible to teach the old dog some new tricks?🤔Facts, hopefully it is addressed over the pre season.
He's strong as it gets but could add a few more strings to his bow.
Hopefully the masterminds put the time into it.
He was not quick, but also not slow,. He had Brett Kenny at 5/8, Price at lock, and a forward pack to die for. Plus the game was completely different then, where centres scored tries, and locks were gods.Peter Sterling was one of the slowest half backs i have ever seen,he was also one of the best
Lol, Brooks won the Kelly-Barnes both those years. Odd that you'd blame literally our player of the year for us not making finals that year.2018 and especially 2019
Yes he was a tough player , enjoyed watching him , may he Rest In PeaceSorry to hear that. Condolences to his family and brother
API is part of the spine, and i think Stains will surprise at FB. Though i get your point. New direction with Api at 9, won,t help a lot if the 6 and 7 don't lift their game. Not sure about a good move. Don't think it's a bad move either. He's out best halfback but that's not saying much. We need a whole new spine.
Front office has nothing to do with recruitment and retention decisions since July 2022 and that is what you were talking about. It's 100% Tim Sheens since the moment he signed back on as head coach July 2022.First of all, I never said Sheens by himself was amateur. I said our front office was amateur which is pretty dead on accurate considering we have failed as a club for over a decade at this point with multiple brain dead decisions being made during that time, the most recent being that we’re willing to give up our best half to accomodate a career failure in Luke Brooks.
You can bring up his past accomplishments all you want. But they don’t change the fact that he hasn’t coached NRL or had any significant success in rugby league in general in over a decade. He was sacked from this club and Hull due to poor rostering decisions and conflicts with management, not to mention resigning from the Vikings because of more conflicts with management.
10 years ago, you would be 100% right. Problem is that it isn’t ten years ago and you and the Sheens bootlickers need to realise that it’s not 2005 or 2010 anymore. You can respect his achievements but he hasn’t shown anything so far to suggest that we are heading in the right direction. And believe, I’d love to be wrong and see us succeed with him.
If anyone is honest with themselves, And we get Klemmer
- There just isn't a spot in a fully fit 17 for Twal.
Ofahengaue edges him out for mine - Very similar players, But Joe beats him past the posts, And I can't leave out Stefano, Klem or Pole.
During compulsory National Service, the army would group all footy players into the one platoon. There were a few who didn't know what a football looked like but enjoyed the privileges which came with being in the footy platoon such as admission to the new sportsmans club hahaha. There were also some very good players but had to play union.I met Chicka a few times, a great bloke, a tough half. A very close friend of the great Bob Fulton, as they played Union in the army. Very sad news,
Good problem to have if we can’t find a spot for a fully fit Twal in the 17. It’s hard not to be a Twal fan, the way he conducts himself. With the amount of injuries and form slumps in forwards..he’ll play his fare share of the season in first grade. With his consistency he’ll be a valued member of the squad.I reckon he adds a lot to the team but it's about the balance of the pack.
8. David Klemmer
9. Api Koroisau
10. Joe Ofahengaue
11. John Bateman
12. Isiah Papalli
13. Jackson Hastings
14. Fonua Pole
15. Stefano Utoikamanu
16. -- one of Blore, Twal, Talau, Matamua
17. Rua Ngatikaru --> I think we need a utility player. It could be Hastings or Doueihi.
If Hastings goes to 13 and plays 80 minutes which personally I think is crazy I just don't see how we are going to fit everyone in.
I can't pick Twal over Pole and Stef and I would have a utility and probably an edge backrower on the bench.
Twal is a 60 minute player and he gives you good defense and he can do the job in relation to metres.
This isn't including Woods who I think will be here.
Maybe we don't get Klemmer but then our pack looks undersized to me.
Who knows ?
Gotta get the clicks somehow. This same bloke has just replaced Brooks name from last week with Hastings name this week...
Funny, That with all the attention the Knights have on the Tigers halves, They didn't make a play for the Forum superstar that is/was Jock Madden...
Considering he's a junior Knight.

It would be a shame if Bateman doesnt reach the heights of his Canberra form and ends up a flop for us...we loose a true passionate leader and gain another Blair type...this would be typical WTS ....hope it works out...Knights-Tigers player swap “closer than ever before”

That is a good observation Cobar. It probably explains the escalation in robust posts yesterday.I dont either mate, AD is not worth 800k and Brooks is clearly on Sheens Radar for his ½
Closer than yesterday's story.lolLol closer to ever before
