Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Seyfarth is basically woods tbh lol
Except Seyfath is 5 times the better defender.

Woods' go forward isn't bad, he actually doesn't back into the defence like he used, he tries to find his belly. However his defence can only be described as heartless. He shows zero effort to encounter the contact. I have a massive issue having someone like that being brought in for leadership.

Riolo said on the bye round one of his players from a Sydney club who had two more years on contract off to a qld club.

Titan don't seem to be a tiger fan not many players at Tigers.

U are joking right , blore is a backrower, seyfarth is useless , twal is a great defender but does not break the line or offload much , the others are kids , other than KLEMMER , stef , pole is a gun will hold his spot
Exactly. The first grade props are Klemmer, Utoikamanu, Twal and Pole, with Ofahengaue presumably at lock. That's who will be in the 17 for round one, but as soon as anyone gets injured or suspended its kids. I'd love to see some of the young guys getting game time this season buy I'd like that to be on the coaching staff's schedule, not thrown in willy nilly because there are no other options.

I'm not excited by a prospective Woods signing but I rarely am by fifth props. There's more chance of getting value out of Woods than most options that might be available for this role.

I understand why fans were off Woodsy for leaving but he genuinely is one of the better/most down to earth blokes in the NRL. Bit of experience around training, extra depth etc couldn’t hurt the club
I got no problem with him. I have a problem with his slow play the balls. Twal and Klemmar anrnt fast either. Can't imagine our kickers will have any time on the last of he takes 8 seconds or so to play the ball. Offloading is all good but sometimes you just need to lower your head and run hard landing on your front.

you saw him play last year right? unless Klemmer drops one on his chin when he does something stupid. its a bad signing

We seem to be getting excited about our recruitment ? Thinking back to beginning of 2022 season if we were told we lose Luciano, Kelma ,Musgrove and Garner as well as Hastings , Nu Brown and Madden and we gain Naden
Staines and Klemmer - would we be that excited ?
Note im ok with other losses Gildardt, Peachy etc and im not counting other rumoured signings that are not a fact yet
All in all I was more hopeful 55mins into game 1 in 2022 when we were leading the Storm 16-10 and our 17 that day looked good on paper

This is one of the all time most stupid reasons to sign anyone. It's never worked for us. That is for any player. We are though talking about Woods which makes it even dumber.

Aaron Woods, if signed, will surprise with the quality of his play in 2023 IMO.

He was NEVER the same player after leaving the Tigers. I think the way it played out destroyed him. One last run at redemption, with his good mate Klemmer beside him. Players & coaches seem to like Woods. His personality seems really 'up' & this is often an overlooked aspect in a cluib- you need guys WITH culture to create a culture. Tamou was always a worker. He was never really known as the type of guy to bring team mates together. Woods has that personality to help bind a squad.

I don't see this a 'holding back Pole etc'.

I want Pole, Matamua & co to PUSH the older guys out of the team. Earn the spot- don't just get handed the spot. They will all feature as the season goes on. The young guys ARE the future. But they need to harden up first- you do that with the work.
