Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Teddy would not leave roosters for tigers, I just can't see it. He's also the best fullback at the roosters and their captain and probably still the best player in the game. Roosters don't treat their players like that. Players like teddy don't leave the roosters.
Agree 100%- I can’t see him leaving the roosters either.

People are against the signing of Woods, but what if we were to be swapping Seyfarth for Woods. Would that be acceptable? One team gets a hungry youngster with a good ethic and we get an experienced pro on minimum wage.

Given Seyfarth doesn't add anything to our prop rotation, and he's no back rower either swapping out our worst props would be a move I'd be comfortable taking. And I no think Seyfarth would get some interest as a cheap squaddie with a good attitude, clubs need those types but we have others filming those spots currently.

You mean like how Pearce was still at the top of his game and got booted to Newcastle
Definitely Roosters will drop you the minute they can get someone 1% better. You'll still be looked after, but they have no qualms dating a girl slightly hotter than the wife.

Like you say - Pearce dispensable once Cronk became available, Keary is being manoeuvred out. Anasta, Jayden Nikorima, Hastings Mk I, Latrell, Michael Jennings, Daniel Mortimer etc. They retired Cordner and Friend once they got slightly too old / concussed. FPN / O'Meley, Willie Mason moved on in the space of a few years.

The most impressive thing is how quick they make those calls

Good thing ...something we should learn from

The Flight deck don't treat their players like that.
Anasta, Pearce, etc.

Teddy is NOTHING to that club. He has said it himself he would have to transition to 5/8.
The one thing about the Roosters, they treat their players like that AND WORSE. I am baffled the loyalty Jake Friend and Mitch Aubusson give that club. We treat players well, Roosters are disposable chooks.

Tedesco I suspect will move to the Centers or 5/8 or forced out if the Unders offer is too low. Sualii in his yearly negotiation will ask to play fullback.

Besides being great mates with Klemmer do you think Woods might be a replacement for Twal?

Twal spent a lot of time sidelined with concussion in 2022.

Is there are reports he is able to take the field in 2023.

Is Twal only a head knock away from retirement? I hope not as I like him as a player. Great defender but lacks some ball skills.

2023 Prop rotation Klemmer, Pole, Utoikamanu, Ofahengaue and Woods/Twal. (There has been some mention on this forum Pole to be considered as a back rower and Blore might be considered as a prop/lock).

Interesting times ahead.

We bought a few players of good quality, - Good. Some now some think it's an open chequebook. Sheens has said quite clearly , it's a build to 2025. The forum is mentioning every top 10 player in the comp. we should buy. -- It's a GOLD RUSH ! Hold your horses folks, that's not the way forward.

Woods is no Twal at this stage of his career. And Woods will not block a spot. If players are better they'll play ahead of him but the idea that some 20 y.o. is gonna do better in the forwards than a grown man like Woods is just silly. He's likely to be the 17th man for a few games and injured for the rest.

Why do people want twal gone he was tigers best defensive forward last year

Why do people want twal gone he was tigers best defensive forward last year

I don't think Forum Members want Twal gone they are concerned about his health and constant head knocks and concussion that might prematurely end his NRL career. Head knocks are a serious thing. Agree he is WT best defender which they missed when he was sidelined

Be realistic, next year we should be better, but nowhere near top 8 . For that to happen you need at least 8 top players and no sub standard players. WE can't achieve that overnight . In 2024 we will be far better, the juniors will have showed their potential , or lack of . as well as our regular players, and if not performing , shown the door. With luck we should have signed another 3 or 4 quality players, and had some of our juniors quality 1st graders. During this period many of the current stars will have been superseeded by others, as happens every year. This is just a guess, but this is what i think our long term goal is. 2025.

It's about his health. He missed big chunk of the 22 season due to head knocks which is serious for his long term health. I think he will start the year but another significant head knock and he will be on the sidelines for a while. On our depth chart we are a prop short in our squad numbers.
