Flat Earth. Question for free thinkers of the forum....

Anyone who thinks the Earth is flat is proper mental and needs professional help. There are one thousand proofs of a round Earth, not the least of which many many photographs of the Earth from space. In fact the Artemis craft is right this moment sending back nice pictures of a round Earth, from the Moon's orbit.

Similarly, ask yourself why the sun and moon are round (visibly so), which are both the largest and smallest celestial bodies you can view with the naked eye, so it holds that the Earth should be similarly round. Of course every other photograph of a planet in the solar system - also round.

If you don't or can't believe this, you are intentionally searching for a conspiracy and an argument for which there is absolutely no justification.

As some other people have said - free thinking is well and good if you are willing to listen to many experts who themselves are "free thinkers" but happen to be very experienced or knowledgeable in their fields. Free thinking where you ignore outstanding evidence - that's actually close-mindedness and about as far from "free thought" as possible.

The good thing about Science is, if we come up with a better explanation or solution for some question, we adopt that solution as the new benchmark. Scientific method always works in that regard.

While we have your well educated assesment jirskyre, I made this thread earlier and asked the question why we can see the moon when it is 400,000 km away,it must be absolutely huge,if you read my introductory post you will understand what I mean,,,,someone,put Flat Earth infront of my question when it was only an example and it has led to this garbage when all I wanted was a civil conversation to the original question....its not hard to have a conversation in a civil manner when many of us especially me arent familiar with astrology or the solar system...

I tell you something that is interesting and shows how these types of comments can really screw people up. I don't have facts on this as well and it could be wrong.

I read the other day that since a lot of the crazies actually believed the ridiculous anti-vaccination propaganda the population of voting republicans actually dropped due to them dying. It's not a significant difference but in some swing states it could actually make a difference.

The facts on getting vaccinated at a certain point in time have been completely irrefutable in relation to COVID. The death rates were significantly higher amongst the un-vaccinated. This is definitely factual.

Just to be clear I haven't had my 4th dose since I had 3 doses and I've had COVID. The situation has changed since earlier in the pandemic.

Just the same as the world isn't flat. Facts do actually matter.

You answered your own question, it is absolutely huge. It's diameter is little over a quarter of the Earth's. It's also the largest moon in the solar system in respect to the size of it's planet.

If my maths is right, for scale it's comparitive to standing on a 25m tall building, and being able to see a 7m tall building from about 1,530m away. So spying a two storey building from a six storey building from roughly a 1.5km away with a clear line of sight. You'd be able to see that.

The solar system is full of brain-breaking facts. For example, it rains diamonds on Saturn.
