Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

at least the club is shopping top shelve, instead of the bargain bin
Are they though? When we resigned Brooks after 2018 on a huge $ deal did anyone know if he or Mitch Moses were the better player? Fast forward 4 years and we are thinking of repeating the past on a guy who has ‘proven’ himself in a top 4 team. What if he’s still the same guy who left us when he’s in a bottom 4 team? Another long term half on too much $!!!!

One of the 1st guys I pick ...every week .....I like defenders ...he could play 350 games and not score a try .....defence wins premierships ...not show ponies who wouldn't scare a tackle bag
Twal is a highly effective but not an efficient tackler - which is excellent if you're a back!

He hits and sticks - but rarely halts momentum until a 2nd/3rd defender join him.

Forwards need more shoulder and grunt in their defence - Pole for instance has great technique & is far more efficient in that he needs less support to hit/stop the attacker and complete the tackle.

(Plus he'll tickle some ribs along the way unlike Twal who is all chest and arms in the tackle!)

Eh not really. Fullback spot and 700k over three years would be fine. If he wants that spot then he has.to take what is given.
He couldn't ask for crazy money, if he said he wanted 900k he would be laughed at, he hasn't proven himself as a fullback yet, if the Tigers get it across the line, we might pick up a decent fullback on a really good deal. Would be strange not paying overs though.

Moses was obviously the better player when he played with Brooks. Just watch the 2016 highlights to see how creatively Moses set up so many tries.

Does that inlude halfbacks??

Just wondering?

PS - Twal cuddles tackle bags.

I remember them both as skilful guys with defensive issues in the early years. I think Moses is more vocal but not convinced he’s a million dollar guy.

I’d keep upgrading the forwards and go out and sign a young half with a lot more tomorrow’s.

most supporters reliased2018 we kept the least wanted.if all the signings with the names swirling around play here ,we will be a much better place, would you rather Klem or Musgrove etc etc.its all just a merry go ride at the circus-be bloody nice to win more then we lose,

Put it to him that's he's unproven. It's.a fair deal and will give him the chance to get involved more in the game. He's only young so will have another couple of contracts.after it.

With the benefit of hindsight people will always criticise. I like that the club have seen the error of their ways and our forwards are improving. I hope they don’t stop before we have a competitive pack. Otherwise the halves are inconsequential.

we just need to get rid of the clowns and hope the jugglers know their salary cap

I know a few blokes amongst the playing group preferred Brooks,
Moses being too erratic and the feeling was they never knew what they were gonna get from him.
Moses has really improved that part of his game in the last 18 months, Much calmer now and can handle the heat far better.....
I still have a question mark over him in big games. Failed in his only origin and now faltered in the finals a few years running. Take away his international forward pack and what exactly are you signing?

Break out year for him last year

A calm, experienced player who has a good running and great kicking game (both in general and for goal), something we continually don’t address.
As I’ve said before, think about recent games where we could have extended a lead, or closed a gap, but missed crucial goal kicks.
And I think they believe in getting the Moses/ Brooks combo back in business, and also his Lebanon connection with AD.
Lots of positives but it’s a lotta dough.
But I remain firmly convinced he wants to come back and achieve something for the club.
