So about to hit 8000 pages .I think if we were signing Bateman something of a official statement would have been made by now ? In last 6 months we've signed Staines and Klemmer and lost Hastings to achieve the latter.
BUT we still have Brooks ! Our main thing is a lot of upgrades which I hope brings results . With EFFORT anything is possible ????

It's early days, and i don't expect overnight miracles like some. But the first time for a long time, we have some mongrel in the pack with Klem, and an organizer in Api. Their influence on the young guys will be huge.

Klemmer rumours were around for months before they materialised. I imagine we'll know about Bateman by the time players return to train in the new year.

Not young, but Api's game is not based on speed, more like Cameron Smith, Cooks game is based on speed,not cunning, he is probably the fastest 9 of all time. Both great hookers. Walker is decepsionaly fast over a short distance, and relies on speed, but not a big guy.

Turned 30 in November, so will be 31 when his 2 year deal is up, even if we agree the option on year 3, he will only be 32

No - The cooling off period was months before....
That has been scrapped.

The 2 weeks you're referring to would be the time it takes for a player to sign, And the contract be processed and given the all clear by the NRL to be registered.
That's the downtime between a player signing and being announced.

They used to have a 10 day cooling off period after signing a deal, that was scrapped after Cherry Evans received on his Titans contract to sign a 10 yr deal at Manly a few years back. I also remember Tedesco in 2013 signing with the Raiders then back tracking and resigning with the Tigers, it was happening a fair bit and the league and jernos were complaining that it was a bad look, not sure how long the cooling off period is now, I may be mistaken though.

Almost certain it was a date, (June 30 or some such) not an amount of days.
Tedesco and DCE both backflipped - but it wasn’t within 10 days - it was dragging on for a long time.

Contracts aren’t immediately registered, they’re signed - submitted - reviewed and approved…. Which I imagine would take at least 7-10 days
