Your Team 2023

Id have Charlie playing Reserve grade personally
I think many are underating Stains,it was very hard to get into the Panthers top side, he's only 22'.
The Tigers were as slow as a wet weekend in the backline. Laurie tried hard, but honestly would not be ahead of any FB in the comp, and his speed is not great.. AD , the same. You don't have to be a genious, to work out the importance of a fast fullback, all the top side have one. Our spine has only improved with the addition of the talented Api. We look like we will have the same halves as last year, and with our better pack should have more attack, but the spine must work together to look good. Having speed at FB is a huge bonus.

You gotta be capable of playing footy as well.
We'll see I guess, he hasnt impressed me much to be honest.

Laurie 2021 would have been better than some fullbacks in the comp, 2022 not so much. I think he deserves next year to redeem himself .. still got improvement in spades I reckon

Watching a bit of him in reserves last year, Staines also has some high quality ball playing skills, along with the ability to support play well. At Penrith in the nrl side he pretty much needed to just sit on a wing and do very little all game while everyine inside him was shining.

He has more to offer than what a lot of people think. I hope he works hard pre season and gets a shot at the 1 jersey.

see how he goes with a full off season injury free.
There were games in 2022 towards the end where Laurie played exceptional footy. Lets hope he can make those plays consistently.

there’s a few speculative calls on this one (Laurie 14, Ken retired) but hey who doesn’t love a teamlist thread.

1. Staines
2. Nofoaluma
3. Kepaoa

18. Talau
I just hope that whatever happens with Tupou, they don't stuff him around in multiple positions. Pick his spot and let him develop in NSW Cup or NRL.

Laurie at 14 is an interesting one...could be a similar move to Storm previously in using a Hynes ball playing like player off the bench.

For me our best 2 existing forwards Stephano and Joffa line up with the 4 main newcomers Api IPaps Klemmer and Bateman - that's a powerful 6 and plenty of competition for the bench eg Blore ,Pole ,Twal Matamua
Given Brooks and AD in the half's and Staines , Noffa , Naden and Kenny (if truly fit ) with Laurie make a pretty good backline and Will Smith as a utility
Would love to see Tommy T make a comeback but unsure how fit he is ?

stains in the centres ? Isn’t he a winger/fullback? He’s defence would be a massive liability in the centres, only my opinion as I’ve not seen him play centre but he doesn’t have the build to be a centre. I get he has pace but for me a centre wouldn’t be were I’d have him mate ay

Hopefully we’re more competitive in ‘23!

Merry Christmas all.

With Bateman coming, who do you think is the better lock? Bateman of Ofahengaue?

Do we play Joffa as lock, Bateman as second-row with Utoikamanu starting prop alongside Klemmer? ...Or Joffa as prop, Bateman as lock, and Blore on the edge...?

Also, I agree that if Staines nails it at the back then Laurie will look pretty good at 5/8 (a Dylan Brown type) which will push Doueihi to centres (where I think he could be a top-line centre if he took ownership of the position).

Here are the two lineups I keep flipping between:

  1. Laurie______________1. Staines
  2. Nofo_______________2. Nofo
  3. Naden_____________3. Naden
