What an absolute shitshow it is in the house of representatives across the Pacific already, on day one of the new term. Following on from probably, or at least arguably, the most successful speaker tenure ever, of the seat's prior holder.

Some two months post election, and they cannot even elect a new speaker as yet, despite multiple rounds of voting. That is after already making massive concessions, along with promises of prominent committee positions and vexatious inquiries, well before the house sat.

Just another avenue for the grift for these Republican reps. What a feckless lot of negative tools.

I;ve been reading articles of late ,betting companies wont take bet;s from consistant winner;s on the grounds of money laundering, siphoning proceeds of crime etc.Some guy(who consistently beat the bookies/agencies) is taking it threw the Aussie courts at the moment

I used $100 deposit match after opening up my ladbrokes account about 2 years ago and was betting on esports (CSGO) and took my account to $50,000 and ladbrokes started limiting my account to $10 bets. Now I know the way around it is to spread your load to different bookies. But yeah house always wins.

A number of the bookies online have account managers who monitor the betting accounts and the successful punters have the odds online limited.
If you ever notice sometimes you try and get on at a price of say $3.30 and the better gets delayed or doesn't go through that is no coincidence they stall the price depending on how much your account is at risk of winning etc.

I often get bets delayed on supposed odds changes during football winning streaks. Often multis don't go through.till odds reduced just before kick off.

Glad they consider me a problem gambler.

On climate change I read a book this year that provided a really good look at the science. I think it's definitely happening. That doesn't mean it's as bad as the activists state but I don't think there is much if any doubt that it is occurring.

I regularly read Judith Curry's blog and I have emailed her and she responded to me.

For those that don't know Curry is a very well known climate skeptic from the point of view of the activists.

The issue on climate change is that a heating of 3 to 4 degrees would be pretty catastrophic. We've already heated up about 1.1 degrees. My understanding is that climate activists are fighting against heating of up to 1.5 degrees.

The issue to me isn't if it is happening but how bad it will get.

This bolded argument is an extreme assessment of the current situation. Not many people would take this position now. It's pretty close to flat earth territory.

As for how much is happening that is debatable from a perspective of long term predictions and targets but it's not debatable that we've had a 1.1 degree warming.

A 3-4 degree warming could see impacts like significant people migrations from the equator to other areas of the world. It's potentially a massive issue.

My take of the realistic debate right now and by that I mean not an extremist position is that society is really debating keeping temperatures below a 1.5 degree increase. I think this is what activists are fighting for.
