Because he's done nothing to help the team despite those around him. He's never kicked us out of trouble, instead he'll put it out on the full or straight to the fullback putting us under further pressure. Then we do get some field position and opportunities he'll put it dead and give 7 tackle sets away or he'll butcher a chance by taking wrong options.

Those are the reasons why he's ridiculed.

I think you'll find the half backs in good team have the talent to re-coup, regroup and continue to lay the platform for their team to win, rather than disappear from most games entirely. That's what makes them the 'good team'.

Luckily though in 2005 we had a monster forward pack that laid the platform for our halves. Ohh,,,, hang on a minute, thats right we had a 6 and 7 that were actually brilliant at THEIR job.

Brooks taking bad options time over time, kicking extremely poor, throwing rubbish passes has nothing to do with a forward pack, in fact it could be argued, because of a poor half's performance he destroys the ability for the forward pack to get a roll on when he gives away dumb errors, poor kicking position, the forwards are always on the back foot. It all comes down to the player. If they are crap they are crap and no matter how much you polish a turd, its still a turd. Brooks aint it. Brooks should be making the forwards look good.
