2023 Pre Season

legendary mate, thank you. if Matamua is training at lock, who has Sheens got as his front rowers in the 'first grade' side atm?
From the photos I’ve seen from yesterday’s session, I didn’t see Joe (someone that was there could confirm).

So he could still be the #13.

Still a few selection decisions to be made I reckon.

that’s what i’d heard when i was given info last, so maybe you’re right. if Matamua does end up starting at 13 it will be very interesting to see who drops out of the side.

Twal. Offa and Pole on the bench with Blore and Simpkins I'd reckon.

I reckon Joffa will be lock. Matamua would be the long term option and using this time to build on combinations when called into the first grade side.
There’s been no mention or love for Stafford To’a. Surely he doesn’t go from playing every game to playing 0 especially with him resigned on a long term deal.
The way I see Sheens / Marshall has recruited a preferred first 20 players and is working hard on ensuring there is suitable back up in the other 10/ T&T and Dev boys.
Pole though, I expect him to feature prominently! Can see him being our own JFH type. May start on the bench slotting into the backrow to lesson the impact from playing close to the ruck.

Keep Pole at front row. He goes well and will only play 30 minutes to start. Hel build up the minutes.

I don't have Toa in the team. He tries but his defence isn't up to it. Needs work.

Naden and TT are my centres only because of their size. Naden needs to work on his defence too.

Joe was at that training session. He was with the rehab group and had been since training started. Not sure what the issue is but I suspect we’ll see him back soon.

Wonder if we'll see any trials this pre-season? RLPA seems to be talking boycott, so maybe they won't be played. Wonder if interclub matches happen instead, like Manly & St George are doing? I assume that's "behind closed doors"?

I know the photo quality is poor but there is a lanky forward with a hat and long hair towards the middle back of the large group of players. Anyone know who that is?
