Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Does anyone truly believe players leave it all in the hands of their managers? I get the negotiating part but to pretend that they are not fully aware of what is going on and are the ones making decisions about their careers, is infuriating.

I and many others don't want him anywhere near our club so you are far from alone. It is just that the people who want him are far louder than we are and post about it far more often
Some are each way on him. I think we could use him but I wouldn't be too bent up about missing him.

It's a matter of loyalty versus finances for Moses, with the 28 year-old playing his first grand final for the Eels last season, however the Tigers deal is reported to be worth as much as $1.4 million per season, which would make him the game's highest-paid player.

While Luke Brooks has been trying to recruit the halfback home, Moses says he's still undecided, but has circled March 2nd on his calendar as his contract deadline.

“I would like it done before the start of the year,” Moses told NCA NewsWire.

“I've left everything up to my manager so all my focus has been on the new season. I've got full trust in him that he can do what he thinks is best to make sure I can play my best footy.

“I told him to do all the talking and look after all the meetings, and when he's ready, he can let me know.

“I think I've handled this situation a lot better than what I have in the past. I'm fully focused on Parramatta and coming to training where I can rip in with the boys.

“Hopefully, everything else sorts itself out before the new year.”

Likely Moses' final big money contract, the halfback has an option in his deal to remain at the Eels for 2024, however it's believed the former Tiger wants to sort a new deal instead

Halves partner Dylan Brown recently re-signed with the club until at least 2025, with an option to extend through to 2031, and hopes his scrum base partner remains at the club beyond this season.

“I don't really have a pitch for him, but my main focus is to play good footy which will allow him to play good footy. We all owe it to him because he's done so much for us as a team,” Brown said to NCA NewsWire.

“I feel like if we continue to play the way that we have been playing then he won't want to leave – whether that's for money or any other reason. He loves Parra and we want him to stay.”

Guilt trip much

Two schools of thought. It’s sorted and they are just dealing we the particulars, easing their way into an announcement.
Or they are certain that Parramatta is his future and they are trying to get the best deal out of them.
I’m not sure how his manager would be able to advise him about where he is likely to play his best football?

I think desperation will win out. The Eels management are under immense pressure from their supporter base to provide some good news considering the quality of player they have lost. Moses ,unfortunately ,knows they are on the slide and is stuck in the middle.

I actually think most are each way if we get him cool if we don’t we move on.
I don't think we should be planning on building our future around him yet. If he comes then we can start planning. If he doesn't we see how Brooksy and AD perform under the new regime this year and make the hard decisions once they have shown how they perform.

Great position to be in. Brooks, AD and Daino playing for their careers with pressure from youngsters coming through. Buy a couple of weapons for the backline next year and we will really be on the rise.

23 has been planned as a development year and the signings and noise about are positive. Haven't played a game of footy against anyone yet so all our positivity is based on gut feel. I think we need about ten rounds of the comp to really know if we have turned the corner.

Two things:

There’s no way Moses hasn’t been involved in a meeting with us, he has put a deadline for 3 weeks max - going to assume he doesn’t want to announce it in the lead up of the week to round 1 so it’ll probs be done any day from now til 14 days official. You’d assume with a decision so close on the “biggest of your life” he’d have has a tour of the club done before this timeframe.

Side note, the fact he brought up his past experiences of handling contracts and acknowledging being in the wrong - obvs referring to us is maybe sending a msg to Wests Tigers fans to potentially accept him if he comes??.... just something to consider

Secondly, I understand why some people may not be in favour of him coming due to our previous dealings with him - however, the magnitude of this signing can’t be ignored.

He’s arguably a top 3 halfback in the comp right now and is exactly what this clubs needs in order from people looking at us as a potential 10-12 team on our day - if Moses comes alongside Api (arguably the best hooker in the game) and Papalili (arguably best second rower in the game) - then you add the mongrel and experience of David Klemmer and John Bateman to lead the way for all our current crops and exciting future of Pole, Stefano, Faguata, Blore, Joffa, Jordan Miller etc. To our current crop now with AD, Laurie and Brooks.

We may be looked at under the right coaching as a potential competition threat, the whole way the tigers are viewed changes significantly if Moses come - recruitment wise with a fresh new talented team with plenty of players who can attract talent, our new faculties and the idea of potentially being coached by Benji could make us a massive draw

Does anyone else also read this flog’s name as Tom Airbnb?
I read it as look at me look at me. Regardless it is all trolling and/or attention seeking. So the poster being right or wrong has no meaning just playing some childish game and thinking his clever.

I was dirty on Moses for the way he, teddy and woods played the club and while I can’t say for certain he tanked the game, you could see his heart wasn’t in it.
having said that I think he would certainly make us a better team and will help with further recruitment and that in my books is a win for WT on and off the field.

Good post . For me, he went when Cleary came in, and they lost 3 of the ‘big’ 4. We don’t know whether if the Sheens era had continued, or had been passed down , we may never have lost him (and Teddy ) in the first place . I still feel our downfall was losing Prince, in circumstances that later proved to be ‘shady’. And that was the start of the slide which culminated through several ‘errors ‘ to eventually the bus driver, who despite all our good faith , lost us our best players then drove the bus off a cliff . He lost our best players , signed big dollar players who didn’t deliver long term, then parted ways half way through his Deal.

Not wanting to go off subject, but I am just saying, to me Mitch returning home is undoing a wrong in the first place. It’s correcting history .

That aside, what his play offers us is enormous and a quick jump into top 8, perhaps even top 4, contention.

I hope we sign him up

Good way to let the constant Q's that
get asked go through to the keeper
I suppose. The way this has all played
out makes me think he's gone tbh.
Announcing it before the season starts
will deflect a lot of attention on him,
he knows he has another season to
play with the eels too. I think the writing
is on the wall, I dunno. Maybe he hasn't
quite come to terms with his imminent
decision either. It would be a lot to digest
for him. Big decision 4 him 2 make

Live on fox sport, Moses and Brooks, only caught the last 30seconds. Moses said answer before rd 1, Sitting next to Brooks in west tigers gear, -- only for a laugh. Tune in if you can,i only caught the end.
