Most of our forwards showed something positive in the game and Bula was the pick of our backs. The area where we knew we have massive issues is still there which is our halves and backs.Any injuries there will really hurt

Let go of Seyfarth .. he plays to a different rhythm to everyone else .. gets monstered by their half back and number 9 .. gets pushed back every time he runs the back up .. out the back blind passes to no one .. actually not no one .. he passed it to them .. never liked him .. and it ain’t gonna change .. time to let go of the human pillow in Seyfarth ..

h was terrible. Hardly KOE cup standard.

Probably a lot knocking the rust off.

Good: Pole, Stef, AJ,Staines, Maramatua.

Bad: Ru, Seyfarth, Talau, Scolari, Wakeham.

Some of the kids looked ok, but are a couple of years off being ready

Dear oh dear, what a carry on by the wrist slitters.

Only thing you need to assess in this trial is any players who will or may feature in 23. Of those we have Stef and Pole outstanding. AJ strong and easily ahead of Talau. Staines strong for a back up. Bula definitely has something. Tupou also. Simpkin did well in a beaten team.

Seyfarth clearly made adjustments to his running style, being more effective. Positive as a genuine back up if injuries hit.

I don't think anyone stood out as being disappointing in relation to expectations. Wakeham was exactly what I said he would be, so as poor as he was and is, it's not disappointing when you expect it. Shocking signing.

We had nothing in attack with those halves. Reilly great in defence though which is a good surprise.

No way that side was executing the attack Sheens wants, so relax.
My major issue with this is that those kids have been training with Sheens all off season, so they really should understand the attack and defense strategy that is being implemented. If that defense strategy is what they have been taught all off season, we are in a world of pain. The defense from our outside backs was terrible.
It is not that hard, keep square and use the sideline as the extra man, there is no need to rush up inside in this day and age. Inside men just need to work harder and push across.
I swear to god it was Nofo that has been teaching the defensive system all off season.

Liked what I saw from Bula. Looks all class. Belonged.

Stefano, Pole and AJ were excellent I thought. They will all be in the round 1 17. That’s a ✅.

Most of the others, including Matamua, need to start the season in reserve grade/juniors and grow and earn their first grade spot. It’s just where they are in their development.

Tumeth will at best be an average player. I know he’s only 20 but his lack of stature and middling athleticism will make it hard for him. He was hurt a couple of times tonight when he carried the ball.

Are you okay?
Are you, or is Brooksy on your dreams like

The defensive decisions i agree with mate. That's a concern. The attack however can only be implemented with certain talent.
