We are really putting all eggs on Brooks and Douehi to get us to the 8 in the next two years.
There aren't too many posters who rate both of them but the club is all in on both of them.

Look at Hines on $850k pa.
Absolutely!Compared to Moses on 1.2 million. I'd much prefer Hynes.
My bad, i thought he was the same age as Large.Alex Conti (the highly rated one) is 16/17.
they don't really have a choice so yeah - hopefully they can get the best out of them and see where the chips land. There aren't too many posters who rate both of them but the club is all in on both of them.
Never should have chased him. 3 months we could have been throwing big coin at Suaallii or someone with a big future. You never miss a chance do you....
Seriously, We did pretty well to be in the discussion as deep as we were.
- Better than Bennet and the Dolphins - Or Gould and the Dogs.
I'd prefer a top notch FB myself....
And assuming no injuries to either. Big call !There aren't too many posters who rate both of them but the club is all in on both of them.

Didn’t he leave as the Dally M player of the year???Yeah na. Left the game a top 10 player, if he returns he would still be a better player than Moses. 2 years would be perfect
If 1.4million doesn’t get us in a discussion then Pascoe should pack up his desk. That’s where he’s got us to.Suaali!! Stop it.....
😂😂😂😂
He's got a club like the Roosters held to ransom
- We'd be nothing more than a carnival ride for him.
The folks saying we shouldn't have went after a proven half like Moses are probably the same ones saying we should have thrown the sink at an unproven one like Hynes was.....
Anyone who thinks Hynes isn't going to be upgraded and extended ASAP,
Is dead set kidding themselves.
No, but there’s a model there for future recruitment. Identify the value propositions ie those that have “it” but have not been locked down. Once they hit the wider market, we will need to be showing some real upswing for them to be interested. Both signed by Maguire who is no longer here.
I'd also argue we signed Paps before he proved he was more than someone having 1 good year, his stock rose after he signed, much like what happened with the Dogs after they signed Burton.
Penrith were only willing to offer Api a 1 year extension. Again, he was picked for Origin after he signed.
We still have not landed anyone where there was competition for their signature: JAC, Latrell, Ciraldo, TPJ, Moses, Munster to name a few. Not surprising to see it continue after last years' debacle, but doesn't make it less true.

It will be interesting to see who plays fullback in Cup, and whether Bula plays in flegg or cup to start the season. And at fullback or on the wing. The way Sheens speaks of Bula, I think a big money fullback signing is unlikely. Unless we bring home Teddy for 2 years as leader and mentor of the entire backline. Don't expect that would happen though.
People have been saying that for years. This season is make or break for his career. You're all going to be eating your words this year with Brooks.

Fair play to you for going back and documenting the action. Perhaps i was wrong, i was multi-tasking a bit while watchingNot exactly sure what you mean by “the Raiders making 60-70m a set for much of the first half”. That is not my recollection and so I went back and took note of the Raiders yardage per set up to the point when Rapana was binned (with 7:20 left in the first half). I counted the metres gained from tackle 1 to the fifth tackle kick, or until their set broke down.
By my calculation they had 15 sets by the time Rapana was marched.
They made in excess of 50m in 4 of those sets as follows: 60m on their first set from the kick off; another 60m on their 8th set (a 7 tackle set); 90m on their 11th set to score a try (which included a kick); and 69m in their 12th set.
There were 3 other sets which they started deep in their own half and made 35m twice and 45m once.
There were 2 sets they started just inside their own half and made 42m and 32m respectively.
There were 4 sets that they started around 30m from our line, or closer, and in 2 of those they were forced back and lost ground.
Our line speed was much better in our own half. And we really outmuscled them in our own quarter. Not sure if that is a tactic.
That makes 13 sets. The other 2 sets they received penalties before they had made much ground.
My impression was that we held our own and that was certainly reflected in the score when Rapana was binned.
Great analysis. Thanks for presenting facts to back up your opinions. Not exactly sure what you mean by “the Raiders making 60-70m a set for much of the first half”. Again I just don’t think he’s a huge upgrade on what we have at HB. I see bigger holes in our roster. He’s been playing on a flat track at Parra. Sign the next superstar instead.1.4 that was 1.5 and then 1.3 yesterday?
Again, I don't think it's overs to lure a goal kicking 7 from his top 4 team....
It's just not.
He's on 950k before the cap raise....
Cap goes up 25%, So does the wage of the marquee players - Especially when there's no 7's kicking around that would be seen as an upgrade.
Then you've got to get him to a club to help with a rebuild....
Parra paid 50k less for him to not have to clean out his locker.
They've overpaid moreso to keep him than we would have to poach him.
And your short list is ???Again I just don’t think he’s a huge upgrade on what we have at HB. I see bigger holes in our roster. He’s been playing on a flat track at Parra. Sign the next superstar instead.
