Robbo has mentioned it before I think it was on NRL 360. He has a philosophy that teams can only be competitive in Cycles, roughly every 4 years there needs to be a roster turn over to ensure the Roosters remain a top club consistently. Go back and look at their results since he first started coaching in 2013 and you will be surprised how true that is with the roosters. Last year was the year where Robbo wouldn’t of expected the Roosters to be one of the top sides as they had 5 retirements the year prior, some aging legs remaining in the side and a lot of youth getting more and more game time. Reminds me a lot like their 2016 campaign.
This year they will build off the back of a mini rebuild last year and be top 4 again.
I wonder if Ivan is thinking the same. It’s been 4 years since a less than successful 2019 campaign for the Panthers and a lot of roster movement over the past two years. Won’t surprise me if the roosters leap them on the table.

Not dynamic… bit of a plodder and pretty small-ish.

There's practically no hype, he's a fair way of first grade but was one of our top prospects so it's good to have him locked in.

He's a lot more aggressive than Seyfarth, with just as much compete, and runs a much better line, harder than Seyfarth ever does. A bit more versatile too.
 
I'm surprised rorters signed radley for that much and the length of time, the amount of head knocks and heaps of suspension's, but then again probably another future medical retirement in the works ?

All the pundits talking up how big the loss of Api is for the Panthers, if everyone is saying there's usually some truth to it. I think they will definitely fall back with the pack a bit this year.
Likewise Melbourne will have to be affected by their forward pack being gutted. Welch comes back but they lose a heap of experience. Here's hoping for a much more balanced league this year, because last year was one of the more lopsided in recent memory.

We’ll see aye. Depends how quickly they bring through Hosking, Geyer and McLean.
Surprise Riki isn’t getting more chance but may come into effect after round 10.

Good post. I recall one of our members stating that Robbie Farah, in a podcast, mentioned he was one to watch during the first trial. He played long minutes and did well in that game. The negativity that is directed towards him is uncalled for noting he has been a consistent junior rep player.

I'd only spit out a cappuccino if it was the Bondi style. Seafood, wine? Never 😉

Further to the point Hal is that player welfare around head knocks and concussion is such a huge concern these days and the Roosters appear to have the most issues with this. Yet no real concern seems to be raised.

I'd hardly call having children an injury 😉

My point is that they have had a lot of head knock and mental health issues. I'm not sore at the Roosters generally, who and how they sign players doesn't phase me.

I am confident Tumeth will make it. For those doubting him, ffs he is 19yo, made all the rep teams through juniors & has a desire to succeed. Yes you will say so did Matt Groat, Brendan Santi & others, but I like what I see in this kid. Great defensive technique, runs good lines, runs hard & can hit a hole, is a professional in his approach and thirst to learn & grow. Give him a few years to build his body in the gym, he did miss a lot of time last year with back stress fractures. With some good mentors for him in the top 13, he has a big future ahead of him, I just hope it continues at WT after next season.

Preston Riki? Yeah looked the goods in the All Stars game didn't he.
I don't think the Panthers will struggle for long, I just don't think they will dominate this year the way the did last. All those kids will go well in that squad, Lindsay Smith is another who should get a good crack this year.

Agree, and more importantly, the opinions of those who matter (ie the club itself) seem to be that he's a keeper.

Staines is safer,particularly defence and under high ball,and faster,better positional player,but Laurie has more x factor....Will be an interesting battle
With Brooks at 7 we need all the x factor we can get!
