We look good on paper and we see individuals busting their backsides on the field. As a team they are still a nervous bunch. You can see from try celebrations, the whole sqaud doesn’t run in to celebrate. Like the thugs at Panthers or Eels.
It’s like the boys are self doubting themselves. Can’t wait for the whole squad to click. I personally feel like good times are ahead in 2023 for us.

The look enbarrassed when they score like this shouldnt happen.

Or players who would die for the jersey.

Cant believe some of the comments saying this one or that one in the backline played well or even hot and cold . Brooks excepted he didn't get much right at all . Naden ran 28m maybe he was injured .Staines had a poor game and Storm targeted him with bombs which he didn't handle well .
All in all the backs hardly made a clean break all game both tries were either created or scored by forwards .Tupou was probably best of an ordinary bunch as didn't do much wrong
Tired of everyone setting low bar .Even the coach
My goal was to win 2nd half and we did ? Can't believe Sheens said that
The fans deserve more . The Storm were not that great and we never even looked like we were going to win .By the way I've read dozens of comments still blaming Nofo?
Our Backline was very poor !

That'll do me. Bula is nowhere near ready for first grade but if Sheens wanted to introduce him early, he could do so from round 11. Why wouldn't we keep the spot available in case someone decent became available midseason?

It's stating the obvious but it's because our 1, 6 and 7 are so poor. We have to think this season going for the hail mary and sorting this massive issue out longer term.

I said tough love the other day. Someone needs to sit the 2 main offenders aside and state what do they think of their performance compared to the dribble that comes out of their mouth.

After watching the replay one of the turning points was bogus.
The win against the feed was diabolical refereeing. Melbourne never packed a scrum. It should've either been a penalty to the Tigers or re-pack the scrum.

When I saw the ref on screen I knew what was coming.
I prefer the newer refs, they are impartial

And don't forget, we get some awful calls by the officials:

The Munster pass to Olam was so far forward.
Touch judge in line with it and misses it.

Just re-watched the game.
Not total gloom.
Defense better.
Forwards strong.
Did not give up.
Sure had lapses, and there is a definite lack of leadership, structure and game manager, as well as attacking kicking nous.
Looking for more improvement.

On the flip side of things Tupou & Pole are destined for greatness, Api & Bateman are real winners. If we can fix our halves & fullback issues we can become really threatening to some sides.

Comparing this year's team (and that includes last night's performances) with 2022 is not in the same ball park - we're better for sure.

Better but sadly 1-2 key positions of being a very very competitive team. The team lacks that spark / firepower from a player that can produce a freakish opportunity out of nothing and keep the opposition guessing. Atm all of our opponents have been relatively comfortable defending their line, which means all teams will try the 50/50 goal line drop out against us (even though we hardly force one anyways), yet when we are forced to restart with a goal line drop out, we hammer it downfield as there is absolutely no confidence in our red zone defense.

Hard to argue that we wouldnt have won a few this year if Madge was coach. We finally have a forward pack but hardly play direct ?

I spent half the game screaming at the screen to hook Brooks. Sigh! Of course I knew Daine would see litle game time regardless of how bad 1 and 7 were.... its the reason I cheered Sheenius out of this club years ago.

Anyway im tapping out. No more live games for me if Brooks is involved. Ill watch after the result if we jag a win but cant see myself watching many games.

Missed the game yesterday, so thought I would punish myself today.
I came away seeing a different game to the emotion driven forum.
They weren’t great , but were competitive
Some poor errors - yes
The scrum against the feed would be penalised or re fed in most games
The attacking kicking was ordinary
I’m brooks biggest critic but can’t lumber him with everything in the game
PLUS
Melb scored two tries from forward passes
*Pezet to backrower
*Munster to olum (a mile forward even Munster looked at the ref in sheer hope) before Munster scored

Just what I saw in the light of day - no game day emotion
