Catch a bomb on the full is the fullbacks main role, if I were him I'd start there. Is he going to pick up another yard of pace?

Thought he was going ok when he was playing at fullback.Would take Jake Averillo any day of the week.. He would be a upgrade for us.
and imagine how much trouble he would get into in a place like Sydney.Wighton isn't worth anywhere near that
Think he needs a lot more than one yard tbh.....hes no speedster...and a lot more comittment to catching the high ball, and being in position in defenceIs he going to pick up another yard of pace?
I can't see it happening for him man.We destroyed that kid. Watch him become a star with another club.
But isn't Daine Laurie the "X" factor that the Parra-sites need because Gutho just doesn't have it.Feel about what? Waqa Blake stinking up the Wallabies or Laurie stinking up the eels?
Straight swap effective immediately. But isn't Daine Laurie the "X" factor that the Parra-sites need because Gutho just doesn't have it.
Almost certainly......eels can't afford a genuine x factor after their big resignings so DL is it.Good luck with thatBut isn't Daine Laurie the "X" factor that the Parra-sites need because Gutho just doesn't have it.
We’ll see MT, but don’t be surprised if he goes.Lol if they didn’t want him he sure as daylights wouldn’t get the offer he has. They want him and he is very important to them.
We’ll see I guessI can't see it happening for him man.
Yep, never crossed my mind.😂😂
Wait... are you saying the halves aren't very good?
News to me.
If Bateman could play five eight he would have done so at Bradford or Wigan. Because they regularly put him in the centres as cover and even hooker. As a forward he has excellent ball skills. But he's not stand-off material. I mean, you're paying him a lot of money to do a job in a position he's used to and not one he has zero experience in.Could we play Bateman at five eight and Wakeham at half back whilst we find decent players?
Brooks and AD need a long stint in State Cup. I don't care what they are paid they are not currently NRL standard players.
Only if we get something (good) in return?Almost certainly......eels can't afford a genuine x factor after their big resignings so DL is it.Good luck with that
Will probably agitate for an early release, but with the season only 20% over but players already paid 50%,it makes no sense to most..except maybe Sheens
Are you referring to anything in particular?I don't see the point in banging on about players we supposedly let go or should have signed.
I wish we had signed this bloke hes a decent player deserves to be in first grade for sureWhy don’t we give Luke Metcalf’s manager a call?
The kid can play and is a really good 7 prospect imo
With Shaun Johnson winding back the clock and Te Marie Martin playing good footy too - also having Volkman ahead of him
I don’t see Warriors being hesitant to part ways especially with the depth they have
I’d give him the starting 7 jersey straight away over here and he’s off contract next year too…..
You are seriously comparing Reynolds playing behind the most stacked squad in the NRL and for his GF year - one of the most stacked squads in the last twenty years with Hastings playing at the Tigers and the Knights (with no Ponga)???? C'mon man - I could have multiple assists playing behind Burgess and GI!We must be seeing different things. Reynolds takes runs all the time, he's always keen to step back inside the defence and take a run. He did it to us on the weekend about 5 or 6 times.
2023 Reynolds already has 5 try assists, 3 line break assists, 5 forced drop-outs. 2022 he had 19 try assists, 15 forced drop-outs and 6 tries.
Hastings so far has 1 try assist, 0 LB assists, 0 offloads, 3 forced drop-outs. 2022 he had 7 try assists and 7 forced drop-outs the whole season. It's not even close. The year Reynolds won the comp with Souths he had 17 try assists and 18 forced drop-outs.
I do agree you can have a fairly average controlling halfback in your team and still win a comp. But you sure as hell better have a Darren Lockyer or a John Thurston as your other half, otherwise you'll get diced. Tigers unfortunately don't have that other half to support a Jackson Hastings type.
Laurie was safe as houses when he first started with us, he diminshed so quickly, gave 150% in his first season then fell off, was never a world beater but his effort was there, I wouldn't be surprised to see him play better at another clubCatch a bomb on the full is the fullbacks main role, if I were him I'd start there.
Metcalf is ahead of Volkman in the pecking order and is just injured at the moment. Why don’t we give Luke Metcalf’s manager a call?

I'm with you Flip. He will go ahead leaps and bounds with some decent players around him and some leadership on the field. We’ll see I guess
Look at Kelma this year at Manly - different player. Amazing the impact good players have on others around them. Laurie has done enough in a crap side to show that once in a good system he will have plenty to offer.Laurie was safe as houses when he first started with us, he diminshed so quickly, gave 150% in his first season then fell off, was never a world beater but his effort was there, I wouldn't be surprised to see him play better at another club
