I don't think Williams was ever a possibility. Anyone in the top 10-15 halfbacks won't go near us. That excludes Hunt as well.
Pezet is no chance either.
Best hope is someone like Trindall or Sexton. I'd like Volkman but he's also very unlikely with both Metcalf and Martin out with long term injuries.

I would be surprised if Trindall moves let alone mid season this year heading into SOO part of the season as Hynes will be called up.

They're looking for attention and engagement with all the negative stuff. It's the same for their "inside mail" that is almost always wrong. I stopped listening after listening to a few last year. All they do is damage the club further and from what I've heard they're not even club members.
I don't mind the other podcast, much more measured and constructive.

Pretty sure Nathan Cleary decided who the coach was going to be at Penrith before he committed long term.
At least Hook has his 7 sticking to him this time.

For the next 2 - 3 years, then we're back to square one. It could work if in that time the club finds a long term replacement. But I doubt we have the foresight for that.

Just reading that Dylan Edwards is a free agent from November.
As he used to be a 5/8 before going to fb, perhaps he could fill a Munster type role for us.

Another we’d have to pay way overs for and probably still take less to stay, but if he is available I want my hat in the ring and I’m going in hard straight up. He’s got work ethic that is hard to teach.

He may have no choice due to the cap. Panthers have a lot of outside backs they can replace Edwards with on much cheaper money that they would have to pay to keep Edwards. Panthers have signed Cleary, To’O, Leota and Yeo all signed until 2027 and JFH until 2026 a lot of money would’ve went in to keep all of them especially Cleary. Not sure what the halves situation is like at Panthers but if there’s less halves then outside backs coming through, smart option would be to keep Luai plus he’s been playing with Cleary since he was 14 according to Gould. Both Luai and Edwards will get 700K plus on the market for any club to sign them. Plus Liam Martin is coming off contract next year he’s on the market in November they already lost Kikau I don’t think they’ll want to lose him either. I can’t see how Panthers will be able to keep both not unless the cap goes up big time again like it did for this year. If they keep both everyone will start questioning them like they do Roosters.
i used to listen however they have extremely limited knowledge on players, basically unless youre in the top 17 they have no idea who they are. when junior pauga made his debut none of them knew who he was, they said he was a gun from our flegg side, not a 25 year old nuffie whod been in qld cup for the past 4 years

Not necessarily. Some of these SL guys have an NRL get out clause in their contracts.
