From my understanding there will be close to a 50-50 split between LO and CSS next season. Magic Round and Tamworth may still happen but the rest will be split between the traditional home grounds.
5 a piece, I can live with that. I must say although the Dragons split their games between Wollongong and Kogarah; since they made the decision to move back from ANZ they have established a more tribal feel at their home grounds. Will have a similar effect for us. And I can’t see anyone being unhappy about giving a game to Tamworth; helps with injecting the Tigers pathways into the area and already landed us one young player from the knights system. Can’t understand why we are soo tied down to giving up a Magic round home game?

And I would guess the one guy who has the integrity to step down is probably the last one out of all them we should lose. It's usually that way.
Agree, I think that follows the norm. He's probably just as sick of the bullshit as we are and no longer wants his name associated with it. I'd personally be more impressed if the Great Fedora sidelined himself, that might be a cue to some of the other oxygen wasters.
I have little doubt now that the problems lay above the players, and the coach. They're bad, but somebody put them there.

Could this be what started all the talk weeks back that ‘someone at the top is stepping down from their role’?
Surely Simon Cook didn’t announce today to the board that he is stepping down and likewise surely John Dorahy, didn’t send his application in this afternoon.
Good point - it was all kept very hush hush. No doubt Buzz and Kent will find a negative to hammer us with.

Wests Tigers is delighted to announce the appointment of former Western Suburbs player, John Dorahy, to the club’s Board of Directors.
Dorahy takes up the position vacated by Simon Cook, who has stepped down after seven years of service to the club.
Dorahy enjoyed a highly decorated playing career amassing 239 first grade games across 15 seasons, including 102 for the Magpies between 1974 and 1979.

He also has a wealth of experience in coaching, having coached for six seasons in the UK Super League, at Wigan and Warrington.
John also brings significant business acumen to the club, having served on several boards, including Wollongong City Council, Leagues Clubs Australia, Wests Leagues Illawarra and Venues NSW.
Dorahy says he’s very proud to take up a position on the Wests Tigers Board.
“This club has a profound impact on the community, and I am thrilled and honoured to be joining as a Director,” said Dorahy.

“I believe I can bring my experience as a former sportsman and businessman to benefit the club on many levels.
“I look forward to working with the Board and Chair Lee Hagipantelis, CEO Justin Pascoe, and the whole organisation as we strive for success on and off the field.”
Cook says he has made the decision to step down due to ‘workload’ and a ‘need for change’.
“I have made the decision to step aside as a director of Wests Tigers,” said Cook.
“The workload in my position as CEO of the Holman Barnes Group has increased to such a level, that I don’t believe I can commit to the time required to fulfil my obligations and duty as part of the Board.
“I also believe that Wests Tigers needs change and regeneration; it is time for Wests Tigers to look to new people with the right skill set who can provide the Club with the success our loyal fans deserve.

“I would like to thank everyone involved at Wests Tigers for their support in my time as a director.”
Hell yeah, and when the other fools make a stupid idea he can slip in a few Liverpool kisses.

What's the story with the Newcastle Junior?

Our CEO likes the cash from having it as our home game.

buzz and Kent will say we didn't consult the ADF or something... geez didn't that hammering go quiet when Kent realised he might have been a bit out of line.
They will find something next week to get stuck into us about. Hopefully it is Bula has a blinder and potential franchise player in the making and they complain we have only extended him until 2025

Great player, nice guy and a feel good story. However, I can't see that the appointment of another ex player from the distant past making the slightest bit of difference to the club's fortunes.

Interesting what Cook said when he stepped down :

“I also believe that Wests Tigers needs change and regeneration; it is time for Wests Tigers to look to new people with the right skill set who can provide the Club with the success our loyal fans deserve."

Maybe they are finally seeing the light.
Well that is interesting?
Is that a sign that they are open to change of some kind? Or is it Solely Cook doing his bit to make a step in the right direction?

Another ex player from the distant past? Who else on the board fits that description? Cook is right though, every board needs to be constantly changed and refreshed.
