there is literally an external recruitment process currently underway for the independent board seats.

There is also one of the WT's board members that 'Stood Down' after the review
- Now back on the Board, Will you be surprised when there's others?

Back to my point - The External Recruitment Process began when (Few weeks back?)
In less than 3 Weeks it'll have been 12 months with an Interim Board.....

You're telling me it took 10 months to 'Start looking'
-Literal I'm sure...

We can all pretend to be looking for something we've already found...

are you aware of how long legal agreements and changes in an enterprise’s constitution take to construct?

Well I don't do it for a living, But have some corporate experience with similar undertakings...
- It seems to depend on who's getting them done and quick they want them done.

Are you?

Why is the least qualified former WT's board member (That's been there forever)
- Now back on the Board, Whilst MUCH more qualified Former Board members are no longer allowed on the premises?

Even Richo made mention of Romeros' recent change in position in a video interview a while back
calling it interesting (Or similar)
You're ignoring the elephant in the room and that Cool Aid gonna Rot your Teeth.

I'd argue there's a lot to be drawn up to safeguard WT from HBG, which meant there would've been a lot to be nutted out in regards to the creation of the legal agreement.

the Burgess stuff is a concern, yes. but all I am saying is to wait until the independent recruitment process runs its course.

In my experience in most high end appointments
They advertise the Positions, But 90% of the time, they've already been filled...
Or shortlisted in the least.

Either way, Independent Recruitment isn't much to hang your hat on,
just an over glorified vetting process.

These same nufties that banned their colleagues from the premises
Are the ones that will be making the decisions on who's picked for the WT's board.

And round we go again....

Batboy is 100% correct, they could already have candidates in mind that they have pushed into the "independent process".

That being said, the fact that they have an external agency vetting EOIs from a broader pool, against a skills matrix, is a good start and "should" throw up candidates with experience from diverse backgounds.

Without knowing the terms of reference for the selection process, anyone here is just guessing at potential outcomes. Could HBG reach down and select someone they have seeded? Potentially. Could they call forward someone who did not rise to the top of the indepenent selection process so was not recommended? Again potentially. Could they disregard the recommendation of the external agency and select on of their own stooges? Possibly, but why?

Surely the aim of the HBG board is to be successful. To be successful you want to work with the best on offer. I expect that the external agency will put forward a shortlist of potential candidates based on the selection criteria that was signed off by the HBG board. If they go against the recommendations of the external agency and bring someone else in, who then get the job, surely Richo will vote with his feet.

It is in the best interests of HBG to have the highest quality people working to achieve the strategic goals set by the interim board. They have a bunch of CEOs doing the day to day and will have a subordinate board focussed on strategic and operational planning, and corporate and community engagement of Wests Tigers - so why would they want, or need, to micro manage.

They should be way to focussed on strategic and operational planning, and corporate engagement to have any time to worry about what WT are doing. They should be looking at the WT financials and corporate govenance to tick the boxes on the coporate business scorecard; if they are failing in those key areas then, and only then, should they excercise their exec powers to get it back on track.

I see the Club has updated the Interim Board on the website whilst also adding:

An interim Board was appointed to oversee the implementation of recommendations following an independent governance and culture review. Three independent non-executive Directors will soon be joining the recently restructured Wests Tigers Board, with a search for the right candidates well underway.

I feel for the players having to front half of that board.
