I think the issue is Sheens

I must admit to being unsure about the signing of David Furner, but not anymore. It has taken him a few games of working with the players to get them strong defensively to a point that it is top 8 quality.
We’re also the best in the nrl for shutting down offloads.
Well done David!
Agree - I also was critical of his appointment however our defensive intent and structure is much improved. Apart from a couple of bad reads in defense, the team is defending more on the front foot and not defending backwards. There is sting in how the players are hitting and our outside backs are now reading the game much better and making good decisions.
Hope this continues.

Agree, the silly old fart is now talking up a Brooks contract extension. Starting to think he is either out to sabotage us as payback for his last stint or he is so stubborn that he refuses to accept he could be wrong, so rather than dropping a dud he doubles-down on this 10-year failed experiment with another futile extension. Time to move on from WT's as my Brooks boycott does not look like ending anytime soon.
Bye 👋

The bloke presided over our most complete performance in the last 5 years.

He is sticking up for the team and his players. Seems a little short sighted to call him a fuddy duddy.
He also managed to make the press conference about that and not the big win - the journos are lazy and if all they talked about how great the win was, that’s what they would have written about. The team won’t be overhyped now, which is a good thing. They can keep building.

I don’t understand the Sheens hate.

He is legitimately one of the greatest coaches of all time. He’s one 4 premierships, he’s mentored others who are now seen to be the best coaches in the NRL

People saying he’s too old etc, that’s rubbish. The best coaches understand people, how to instil belief, how to get the best out of people. The game-plan stuff is the easy part. He’s turned a bunch of players who’ve been surrounded by negativity for a long time in to a cohesive unit, and they’ll only get better from here.

I’ve said it before, but Sheens saw that Madge wasn’t that type of coach - to someone like Sheens it would have stood out like a sore thumb. The players were drowning under him.

Sorry to say, but if you can’t see the way this team is building, and how Sheens comments to the media about progress, their players, then Sheens is right…you haven’t got a clue.

It was a great win, and was celebrated. At the right end of the season when we are playing finals and not sitting in 15th position then Sheens will get the accolades he deserves.

Agree there %100. It's been really refreshing
hearing the players & coach talk about game
plans recently. Game plans structured around
who we're playing, and how we want to play
too. That's been missing the past few years tbh

A lot of the criticism is just people with an ongoing , never ending beef with the club. There's also those who support the ex coach and just don't want to admit they were wrong. These people will never allow themselves to enjoy our improvement as they're committed to death riding.
Then there's the people that don't really watch the games ,so just get their info. from a media committed to getting clicks by putting shit on us.
It's pointless to engage with any of the above. Their minds are committed to their agenda.

I get just as frustrated with the club as most, but that’s not Sheens fault.

What actually annoys is that if the club is successful it would have done it with the current muppets running the club, and they’ll benefit from that success. They don’t deserve it.

Sheens went on a rampage at the post-match presser. Api looked sheepish sitting there while he was rambling on about things no one asked about.
Loved every minute of it. He was bang on and didn't let the fact we rinsed them paper over some terrible calls.

Let him off the leash.

Anyone post Weidler Sunday column mention he's hearing sheens to finish up by the end of the season?

Spoke to someone on weekend said sheens struggles a bit getting around. Unsure how true that is.

The hate is due to small man syndrome

I haven’t heard or read anything, but I had a feeling that might happen. Noticed he’s obviously letting Benji control the ship( and also Furner had moved in beside Benji with Robbie behind).
By my observation I think the hand over plan is progressing a lot faster than we thought but maybe I’m reading too much into it.
After all, I’m just an elderly white man !🤣

Over 50 and white.

Bad combination, you would have to be a racist.
