Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Yeah .. nah..

On the field results please
Then I stand by my belief even more. This club needs genuinely two or three years of consistent footy before we can say we are out of the wildneress and that the culture has changed. Not three or four weeks.

They seem to make player profiles for the website when a player gets named in a 22-man squad.

That’s what happened with Bula and he didn’t get upgraded til weeks later.

I doubt James has been upgraded.

Usually it's when they're there or there abouts to come into the top squad or possibly play....

and I never said otherwise..

I was criticising the comments of the Chairman… who has left us once again open to ridicule

*yawn*

We've let a good clubman and solid first grader go because he was being paid overs and playing limited minutes.

He was playing in the position that we have the most depth in and will be relatively replaceable while we rid ourselves of yet another inflated contract.

The sky isn't falling. Take a breath.

Depends who replaces him on the field .which I'd say will be seyfarth but I don't think we need both seyfarth and twal in the same 17

WOW ... People are so negative towards the club and rightly so if it was 12-18 months ago.

Take away all the emotion and look at the facts as our club has done wonders over the last 12 months to turn this club around. We have offloaded most of the deadwood that were just happy to get a pay cheque and replaced with some serious talented players E.g. Bateman, Klemmer, Pap, Api and blooded players like Bula, Tupou, Pole, Starford To'a, Naden etc... Not sure what you all expect because we are building from the very bottom but for me we are 100% heading in the right direction and the playing group seem to be all in (Even after the tough start to the year) .

I love Joe O and will miss him greatly, but I have total faith in the team to replace him or upgrade the guys we don't want to lose E.g. Bula, Stef, Tupou etc.. (Ask yourself would you rather lose Joe O or a Bula / Tupou because we don't have the funds to keep them? I know my choice)

All we really need is a top line 7 and some nice back up players and we are building nicely.

There is a method to Sheen's madness and IMO is working perfectly and we are not getting belted like the past.

Anyway, just wanted to add a positive post and back what the club is doing.

so why are we the only team that has to let players go mid season to retain junior talent?

I don't know but I would have to think there is a very good reason for it and I'm happy to wait.

Joe O comes off the bench most games and we have quite a few players that can cover him, so I think it's more about future years then this year but when an opportunity pops up you need to take it. Lets say Joe's form, drops or he gets injured there is no way another team would take his 600k contract off us.

Works good for him as he will get more mins at Eels.
