What if the Sheens theory about 50 NRL games needing to be played before being able to become a consistent first grade player is correct (or something along those lines), and it seems to be close to the mark in the case of Starford Toa.

Imagine if in another 10 or 15 games Alex Seyfarth turns into Keith Galloway or Cory Horsburgh.

Hank if that turns out to be the case then I will be the first to stand up and say "I was wrong ". At this point in time the EVIDENCE clearly suggests otherwise.

Seyfarth can do a job for us. Not a long term
prospect though, been in our system for ages.
He will tick boxes and do his assignments but

The boardroom, CEO’s and the power brokers have been the club’s Achilles heel since day one. Most of our coaches would have had success in a different environment..except Taylor and Lamb.

Potter was the coach I think could have really turned the club around if he had the support from above. Anyway it would appear things after over a decade are slowly moving in the right direction

Still don’t get the love affair for Potter, average coach and a simpleton. Again any coach that has said it’s brooks team, has got no idea whatsoever. I think brooks is a good running half but by no chance is he a controlling half, potter, please…

Seyfarth- I remember reading somewhere that Farah is a huge believer in "Big Red".

While he struggles to stand out in top grade, he owns second grade. He's currently somewhere between the two grades. The effort is there. You watch him play & it's obvious he's trying hard. If the coaches believe in him, then I'm good with him getting opportunities.

He won't cost us a game for being lazy.

Probably wont win us one either; but if he has improved as much as Twal under the current coaching structure we may well be surprised. I certainly hope so; however, my expectations aren't high. I trust that he surprises us all!

Yep, tigers are starting a trend getting more out of Newcastle players too.

But do we need another aging back rower?
If we are playing the long game he’s not necessary imo.
What is necessary, imo, are a creative lock, strong centre and to sort out our 6/7.

We need to go with a good mix of young and older and I think this is where the club is heading
Hunt would be a gun in our team with Brooks
Frizell would also stiffen us up and is a good ball running back rower
Add one centre and we are 100% finals bound we have the rest already

Liam Martin is an absolute weapon. Go back and watch his efforts. Frizell played well also.

As we've witnessed with Brandon Smith, changing clubs for more cash does not always work out for the player or new club. I think Martin is a loyal type who probably knows he plays his best footy in the Panthers' system under Cleary. Good on him for sticking solid with the Panthers.

But we have to be careful .. why would a club let go of current SOO player .. ?? Newcastle are prepared to let Frizell go why .. they are trying to rebuild by getting younger players they can develop into long term players at the club. As good as Frizell is .. how many season does he have let in him at this level .. I'd say 1 or 2 seasons .. ?? Then after that we will be looking at moving him on .. and by then not many clubs would take him.

I liked what I read about Morgan Smithies - second row or lock. At 6ft1 and 106 kgs is a good size and being from Yorkshire like Bateman will be tough.
