So can we put that rumour to bed. From: Foxsports 08/06/23
FRIZELL TO STAY
Veteran forward Tyson Frizell has all but confirmed he will re-sign with the Knights amid speculation he could be forced out.
There was a report a couple of weeks ago revealing the Wests Tigers were interested in Frizell’s services, however the 31-year-old told Zero Tackle he “will” remain at the Knights, where he is “very happy and comfortable.”
Frizell, who earnt an Origin recall for NSW in game one, is coming off contract at the end of the season but he has no interest in signing anywhere else — especially after purchasing a new home in Newcastle.
“Yeah, I will (remain at the Knights),” Frizell said.
“I’m very happy and comfortable where I am... and my future will hopefully sort itself out, and hopefully, I guess, sooner rather than later.”
“I think any player that goes through it when we’re off contract at the end of the year and potentially other clubs that are interested in you,” he added when asked about the rumours regarding his future.
“All you can control is what you do on the field, and it’ll all take care of itself.
“(There is) no pressure at all. I guess if people are talking about it, it’s probably a good thing, so it doesn’t bother me whatsoever.”
Most of us haven't robbed our employers for four years though eitherMaybe Ronald McDonell was the architect of the insulting low ball offer for Brooks which probably has upset Luke and his manager and that is why he was shown the door.
Just a thought, but I would think making an offer like that to a player that loves this club isn't a real good look.
Don't think Luke is going to bother getting out of bed of a morning for somewhere around the 500k mark, I'm sure most people on here would, but then not that many of us are NRL halves either.
Going on all the rumours that go around I recon this one has just begun. All too often players and coaches come out and say I’m not going anywhere or they’re not going anywhere and a few weeks later they’re out the door. Crazy world we live in lolSo can we put that rumour to bed.
Nah that is just a standard responseSo can we put that rumour to bed.
Pretty sure Staines said the excact same and a few weeks later he was a Tiger.Nah that is just a standard response
Alamoti looks to be a second row forward in waiting. He is slow.Averillo and Alamoti told they are free to look elsewhere.
I expect him to because he's basically stolen hundreds of thousands the last 4 years by not performing any where near the required level until the last month when surprise surprise it's new contract timeBut have we truly paid overs in recent years, or just paid what was owed him for taking unders in earlier years?
Not getting any younger, he is far from old. In fact he is at what should be his peak age. If were valuing him on age this should be his highest valued contract.
No idea what his expectations are but not sure how the club could expect him to take less than 600k.
That's absurd. You think a player who's failed at NRL level, largely a NSW Cup playmaker/backup for first grade will be getting a substantial payrise?? I think it's far more likely that his pay would get slashed dramatically given how he's flopped at the dogs. Would be shocked if he got more than 250-300k absolute max for his next contract. You'd probably have to pay $650 or so for Flannagan. Good halves don't come cheap!
You would take Averillo at the right price.
I hope soI reckon this is BS. Mario Tartak wouldn't be this stupid, surely! I would say the journo has misinterepreted. Probably heard $1.2M but selectively left out the number of years.
Can’t believe I am saying this but I would go for Jordan Rankin before I would consider Flanagan 😳That's absurd. I would even have someone like Wakeham on par or even ahead of him, and he's a minimum wage player, who might get a small payrise for next season.
I never want to hear that name again! Can’t believe I am saying this but I would go for Jordan Rankin before I would consider Flanagan 😳
Alzheimers? Can’t believe I am saying this but I would go for Jordan Rankin before I would consider Flanagan 😳
Yep, little Luke is playing for a new contract now thats why he is playing better he has been resting on his contracts for a few years now.
