Luke Brooks #167

We are running last with Brooks
Are we that low that we are resorting to grading doing last better with or without Brooks. Brooks supporters all had scapegoats for our position last season - and all gone - if not Brooks then who or what seeing we are pretty much in the same spot. So he can't be held responsible for our position but let's not pump his tyres up either given we are exactly in the same position as last season.

Hahah , Brooks defence will,be missed , guy puts in all the time in defence , see who can step up and do what he does , Wakeman / Laurie are no chance to cover him
I don't think Wakeham's defence can be questioned he doesn't miss many tackles and the opposition runs at him as much as they do at Brooks. They're both small and are easy targets, there's no protection for them and both are making more than 20 tackles per game that's a huge ask for a pair of halves. No wonder the attack gets stifled even Bateman with his big effort on Thursday had nothing left to attack.

The next few months could get very ugly and there’s not a lot of goats left to blame.

Don't worry the Heirachy of Muppets will find someone to blame and it won't be one of themselves,if it gets really desperate then some higher flunky will be thrown to the wolves

Wests Tigers star Luke Brooks has dropped a bombshell on the club after informing them of his plans to leave at the end of the season.

Brooks had a two-year extension on the table from the club but it is understood he informed assistant coach Benji Marshall on Sunday morning that he would not be taking up the deal.

It means Brooks will head to the open market, where is expected to attract offers from the NRL and Super League.

The 28-year-old has been a constant at the Tigers since making his debut as an 18-year-old, playing more than 200 games for the club and winning the Dally M halfback of the year award in 2018.

In recent years he has become a lightning rod for criticism as the Tigers have struggled.

Brooks has more often than not been the whipping boy at the club but he has responded in recent weeks by producing some of the best form of his career, prompting coach Tim Sheens and Marshall to push the club to table an extension for the next two seasons.

However, it is understood the club was pushing Brooks for a response and he has opted to seek greener pastures after more than a decade at his boyhood club.

MORE TO COME

Fair enough.

I'm a Brooks fan in many ways. But- they could not spend big amounts on him wisely.

An experienced half would be ideal (Sezar? Pearce?) but I'd definitely look to Blake Taaffe to play in the halves next season as well.

I guess he thinks Sheens and Benji will not give him a decent future at our club either.
