Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

The guy has 2 more contracts if he’s lucky and that’s it. He is no Rhodes Scholar. Can’t see him earning good coin once footy is done.
You have got to make hay whilst the sun is shining.
Not really. He'll be playing reggies midway through his next contract.
If he stayed with us he'd have contracts until he's 50 with a guaranteed 1st grade coaching gig and statue outside Leichhardt oval upon retirement.

Sam Walker is probably worth a tap on the shoulder. He's got a stack of ability in my books and seems to have fallen out with Cronks strict structure. I think he'd thrive under Sheens and Benji playing more eyes up
Dunno... maybe I'm biased by how skinny he is, but I've just never really thought he is that good.

If he signs for less he is helping us move off the bottom of the ladder.

Mate - this is insanity that I have actively pushed back on. It's wrong.
Possibly, but even with him, there is still plenty of gaps in the roster and the club has shown no ability to fill them. How can he have any confidence signing on unders will result in roster improvements elsewhere, particularly with limited talent on the open market?

Yes, I know you have pushed back on it and I commend you. But it's Brooks' reality that it will continue.

Exactly this, Gould uses the Tigers as a deflection all of the time. Ask him how the Dogs went on the weekend and why we struggled when he STOLE our coach FFS ! he does nothing but point the finger at our club and when he does it the so called “advice“ he offers is always crap designed to cause uncertainty and controversy.. worry about your own problems Phil, we good thanks
Like him talking Daine Laurie up as a natural 5/8. You can have him if you want him Ghoul.

I actually think he could be too. He has done it a little in the past, and his padding from dh was crisp and very accurate.
But again, his downside is he simply doesn't seem to be able to run plays - especially so near the try line. So he'd have to be at a club with a massively controlling half.
I guess maybe he could be a good pick up for the dragons?

Who knows but doubt he has the balls for it. Seems very disinterested the limited time he's been there

Ideally we wouldn't be throwing in Conti and Large the second they turn 18. Ideally we'd be able to nurture them and give them time in flegg and Cup to acclimatise. If Fainu, Pezet or Sanders sign it's for the immediate first team. They're starting halves this/next year, see how they go. And they'd have a couple of years to find their feet before the likes of our young halves are ready to push for first grade. If they're doing well then decision are made on whom to keep, easing youngsters in off the bench like Storm did with Cronk etc.
I'm all for taking time with Conti and Large, although Fainu has only just turned 18 also. Therefore it would also a big ask to throw him in next year if we lured him across.
