We are a club with a famously poor culture. Maybe under Bellamy he might work but every time we sign a dick they act like a dick.

Under Bellamey (a young) Lodge got into a confrontation with his coach got fired and publicly insulted the coach.
I'm indifferent towards signing him but I do get tired off "if he was at the Storm" and "under Bellamey" chat as though Bellamey is the messiah.

I don't know why we wouldn't try and sign Averillo. Dolphins are after him, apparently 1.2m for 3 years. Pretty modest deal for a player becoming a good first grade centre with the ability to fill in at both 1 and 6 competently. At only 23 years old he should continue to improve.

A lot of kids mentioned as the plan. In any age groups top 50 players, less than 5 will play more than 20 first grade games. Most will fall by the wayside.

It's remarkable when you think about it, for every single player running around in first grade everyone, there's 10 people who didn't make it, that shows how huge junior league is, that's not including the people who run around just for the love of the game on the weekends.

It's very important to pair that player with someone a bit more explosive. Example- Wakeham looks a much better player if Brooks is running successfully.

Best option to play 6 next season might very well be Averillo. He can do things individually that these others cannot.

If we are not adding our future halves combination that will win a comp, we need to find a mix of players capable of steering us around the field & producing the occasional flash of brilliance.

Averillo doubles as a player that can play centre once our 'future halves' are secured.

would hazard a guess he would start at 6 or
at the very least play 14 as a utility. We need

That could be entirely why Brooks was given a deadline, not out of disrespect, but full knowledge of who his manager is.

There are many people who criticise giving players a deadline, but when you know how their managers drag things out in public, it makes sense to take away some of the manager's posturing power.

Could not agree more, I have said many times, Isaac Moses has played us numerous times, we should not be negotiating anymore with him over Brooks, tell him he has rejected the offer, we are not coming back, end of section. Then if he does want to come back, the offer is $450K, lets start giving instead of taking for a change

Of course they should, Moses is slime bag, admittedly good at his job, but we have been bent over too many times by him, so we should learn from that.
