Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

If Brooks goes to Townsville I guess there is a real chance Townsend will end up at Concord. To me Townsend in many ways is a poor man Brooks. Poor defender and slow, but can goal kick and has some organisational skills. I really don’t think we achieve anything

URGENT ! Need to recruit a top class center ,a top class half playmaker with a great kicking game ! My picks would be Averillo and either Volkman or Flanagan at this stage .These 2 half's are probably not exactly top class but if we could do some mid season deals we could finish season on a high or are we already resigned to writing off 2023 .
I would love to see something ,anything from Fulton other than being the executives man driving a wedge between them and the coaching group

No. He looks too slight to play NRL and his defense is a major issue. He’s a halfback, just not a very reliable one.
People blaming the best halfback in the last decade for Walker playing reserves....
He's in reserves because he's been worked out - The fact the most successful coach in the last decade is playing the likes of Drew Hutchison over him tells me all I need to know.

SPOT ON!!
People think because Townsend has a mouth - That makes him a quality player....
Trading him for Brooks is a totally WT's thing to do...
People pining for the Chad here - Just don't watch him, or know anything about Footy...

The same experts that said Brooks wouldn't get another contract in the NRL - Took 2 days for him to be linked to another club - A top 4 Club at that - Full of Origin Players.....
By last years coach of the year...
Imagine that.

We are a club with a famously poor culture. Maybe under Bellamy he might work but every time we sign a dick they act like a dick.
Lodge (Outside of on field blow ups) has been fairly low key for a long time now....
It's been forever since he's been at WT's
- And the off field stuff he's being caned for was back when he was playing for Wests Tigers....

He’s always hurt and he’s been in good systems. How did the jet and BJ, and now Naden work out. We need to think about character! The bloke terrorised a family.

I don't disagree....
Just don't think he's that monster now days.
I have no issue with him being in a game....
Don't need to worry about the moral side of it, As he doesn't (And probably won't) Play for the Tigers...
(Pascoe sacked him)

Blokes like Bird (Jamming a glass into his partners face) And Inglis (Bashing his missus) Packer (Stomping a blokes head into a Gutter) also fairly reprehensible actions for mine...
The went on to play rep football after pulling such shenanigans - Inglis will probably be an immortal....

Under Bellamey (a young) Lodge got into a confrontation with his coach got fired and publicly insulted the coach.
I'm indifferent towards signing him but I do get tired off "if he was at the Storm" and "under Bellamey" chat as though Bellamey is the messiah.

I don't know why we wouldn't try and sign Averillo. Dolphins are after him, apparently 1.2m for 3 years. Pretty modest deal for a player becoming a good first grade centre with the ability to fill in at both 1 and 6 competently. At only 23 years old he should continue to improve.

1. Bula
2. Naden
3. Averillo
4. To'a
5. Tupou

Might be the fastest backline we've ever had.

A lot of kids mentioned as the plan. In any age groups top 50 players, less than 5 will play more than 20 first grade games. Most will fall by the wayside.
It's remarkable when you think about it, for every single player running around in first grade everyone, there's 10 people who didn't make it, that shows how huge junior league is, that's not including the people who run around just for the love of the game on the weekends.

IMHO, Tedesco, Koribate/JAC, Lawrence/Simona were the fastest.

Looks like dolphins throwing more money

Somebody sold him a dummy that Pascoe was going to resign and he got caught out. As frustrating as it is, it’s a better club without leaks.

Forgot about that....
You're right - He's been gone since...
Also got outed a couple times, Maybe that come back on him...

Either way, His strike rate of late is probably not much better than any other internet gossiper.

I'm going to assume our #7 option next season is going to be along the lines of Wakeham/Townsend/Sezar/Flanagan at this stage.

In other words- a game manager.

It's very important to pair that player with someone a bit more explosive. Example- Wakeham looks a much better player if Brooks is running successfully.

Best option to play 6 next season might very well be Averillo. He can do things individually that these others cannot.

If we are not adding our future halves combination that will win a comp, we need to find a mix of players capable of steering us around the field & producing the occasional flash of brilliance.

Averillo doubles as a player that can play centre once our 'future halves' are secured.

Walker & Averillo.....

no to walker and averillo in 2024

If we want a running five eight then I want to see Laurie after the bye once he is over the concussion - think he has a lot of potential at five eight and much more points in him then Averillo

Absolutely. If it wasn't for the HIA protocols I
would hazard a guess he would start at 6 or
at the very least play 14 as a utility. We need
to give Daine another shot at the top flight

You can really tell who the young blokes are round here that weren't old enough to
remember Sheens first Stint at the club.
Star was a lock at 6 this week before Daine got a knock - It's how it goes...

When you're out - You're out
