No, Pascoe hired Madge for 2019 as he could start immediately. Cleary was also happy to stay on for 2019. We could have announced Bennett and used it to sign prospective players for 2020, and have Ivan remain Coach for 2019,as it turns out, Broncos sacked Wayne so we would have had him for 2019. Pascoe got butt hurt that Ivan was leaving and signed Madge instead.

Gus said repeatedly on 100% footy that Bennett wouldn’t be at the Broncos, he knew that because he was negotiating with Bennett to coach the Dogs.
It was Dave O’Neil that secretly negotiated with Ivan behind Gus’ back and signed Ivan.
Bennett stated that he would have liked to coach the Tigers, but he wouldn’t break the contract with the Broncos.
Pascoe signed Madge just before the Broncos sacked Bennett that’s when he signed to coach South’s.

Or maybe those players benifit from having an elite half back in the team with an awesome kicking game which affords them field position and the ability to put pressure on. He has the ability to consistently pick the right kick or pass for his team mates (game smarts) and is an excellent game manger (game awareness). He has played origin and won a premier ship, any way you cut it Reynolds is an elite half back and is tough as nails !

LOL so all those players wouldn’t have reached any great heights with someone else in the seven. I could have sworn I watched Greg Inglis beat about 12 players on the way to a try once. Maybe it was Reynolds game management though 🤷🏼‍♂️

Um where did I say that they wouldn't have been any good without Reynolds ? They are all great players in their own right and definitely Reynolds definitely benifits from their talent as well, trying to pretend it only works one way is ludicrous. Going back to my original replies all I have said is Reynolds is elite in his own right period ! But you don't seem to have a valid argument to say otherwise !

Madge did manage to move Reynolds and MBye on and i doubt if 5kg of TNT up Packers rear end would have made him leave his ridiculous contract with us

Believe it….the reason was financial….to hopefully use funds to buy well in 2024

Every single player manager knows we currently need four halves. AD won't play until mid 2024 at best.

So, we need NRL 6 and 7.

AND State cup 6 and 7 who can genuinely play NRL if needed.

Even if Wakeham is kept...it is still three more.

Managers for blokes like Volkam and Trindall will be able to ask for 2-300 000 more from us than they otherwise will get as every man and his dog knows we are desperate.
